Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2013
I am giving it five stars after some tweaks. I kept the recipe, for the most part, the same. I didn't have meat so I did just the cheese version, and I mixed the first layer of sauce with the first layer of pasta in the pan. I didn't worry about doing that with the second layer and it came out great. First, COVER THE PAN while it's in the oven. It keeps everything nice and soft. Second, 30 mins at 350 is not nearly as hot or as long as needed. This recipe makes a HUGE helping. Either, bump the oven temp up and keep it at 30 minutes, or keep at 350 and bake for 45 mins. Even though, my cheese wasn't completely cooked through, my husband and my kids thought the ziti was fantastic. My husband had three servings! I saw another post that said to sub the sour cream with ricotta. I'm sure that would be great, too. But, the sour cream makes this ziti taste amazing! Ziti tastes just about the same every where you go. It's kind of hard to screw it up. The sour cream makes it stand out.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
These came out great. I did use the bread maker in this recipe. I read in an earlier review about substituting all purpose flour with bread maker flour. I used all purpose flour (because it was all I had) with the exact measurements that the recipe calls for and it came out just fine. I also used all purpose yeast instead of the bread maker yeast. I kind of had some fears about not using bread maker ingredients, but it all came out tasting amazing.
