Buttermilk Pound Cake II

I did not care for this recipe. Other than subbing an extra tsp. of Vanilla for the Lemon, I followed the directions exactly. Not only did the cake completely stick to the inside of my pan and fall apart when I tried to get it out, what came out had absolutely no taste at all!

Ground Turkey Casserole

This was fantastic! The only thing I did differently was that I mixed everything but the cheese together and topped with cheese before baking. Both my husband and I really enjoyed it, which is saying a lot since we never agree on new recipes!

Banana Muffins II

Fantastic, easy muffins! I was worried about how they would come out because I goofed and completely forgot to add the egg... they were still light, tasty, and rose wonderfully! Can't wait to try them again making them correctly!

Cow Pies

These were easy (especially since I microwaved my chocolate to melt it instead of breaking out the steamy double-boiler) and tasty. I used pretzels and cheerios in place of the almonds. Next time would probably add more raisins, but overall yummy enough to make again!

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Amazing! Just made this to frost my husband's red velvet birthday cake and it came out great! I did use 1 3/4 cups confectioner's sugar as suggested by others and chilled my bowl and whisk attachment before whipping the cream. Not sure it would be great to pipe with this the way it is, but since I didn't make it for that, I was very satisfied! (Also tried dipping a strawberry in as someone else had suggested and that was even better!)

Fruit Pizza I

I used a pre-made cookie dough on mine to make things easier on myself. The pizza was great, with the addition of about 6-8 oz of whipped topping in with the cream cheese and powdered sugar. It was much lighter and tasted better than it did without the whipped topping. Nice base for creativity, though!

Chewy Granola Bars

Though the taste was great, these came out more like oatmeal raisin cookies (I used raisins instead of choco chips) than granola bars. Probably wouldn't make them again. UPDATED: The next day, these were definitely more granola bar-like; I am going to try them again, adding the full 4 1/2 cups of oats next time, which I think will make them nearly perfect!

Heavenly Angel Food Cake

Perfect every time! The only thing I found is that it does not work very well with packaged egg whites, though I noticed after I used them that it says right on the box "not recommended for whipping...". The cake still came out OK, but a little more dense than with whole eggs that have been separated.

Favorite Banana Blueberry Quick Bread

This recipe was OK, but I didn't find it to have much taste (I even added a little cinnamon and vanilla to the batter). It also took nearly 90 minutes to cook and I had to turn the oven down to 300 after the first 50 minutes to keep it from burning. May try one more time making it into muffins and maybe adding a little nutmeg, but this won't likely be on my favorites list.

Creamy Dilled Chicken Casserole

Very quick, easy dish! I added a little broccoli to it, cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and mixed everything together. Yum! The only issue I had was with getting the biscuits to cook on the bottom; I wound up covering the whole thing with foil and cooking an additional 10 minutes, which made them come out perfect without the tops burning. Would definitely make this again!

Yum! I've been making this for a long time, and it's always great! I actually use only about 1-2 Tbsp oil and slightly more sugar, plus about 1/4 tsp. salt and it's never done me wrong!

Buttermilk Pound Cake I

Moist cake, but not something I'd make again. Flavor was kind of bland (I added some vanilla before baking) and baked cake was a little greasy, I'd imagine from the shortening in the recipe. Definitely nothing spectacular (or tangy, as the description says)

White Cake Frosting II

By far the best recipe for icing I have ever found! Since I usually double it, I use half butter and half shortening, and a little more water to make it the consistency I like, but other than that I would not change a single thing about this recipe!

San Francisco Sourdough Bread

Fantastic! I found I actually like it more using half bread flour and half AP flour. We don't use the onions on top, but that's personal preference. Everyone who has tasted this bread loves it!

Frozen Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls

These were really good! I added a little salt as suggested by others to give a little more flavor. My only real reason for the 4 star rating is that they were almost too hard to eat when stored in the freezer; I definitely found them to be better refrigerated. Rolled them out and cut into heart shapes for Valentine's day.
