I am currently a Stay at Home Mom, with only my youngest daughter left in the house. My husband of 19 years isn't the most adventurous diner, but he is willing to try just about anything I come up with, so our dinners are always interesting!
My favorite things to cook
I used to be a huge Chocoholic, and dessert junkie, but we have recently taken a new journey to the healthier side of food, and I am truly having fun exploring as many Whole Food, Vegetarian recipes as I can find. It keeps meals fun and delicious, as well as good for us and the planet.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our favorite cooking tradition is definitely the 'Birthday Dinner'! Whatever you want, from soup to cake - my 14 year old daughter is currently obsessed with Baked Mac 'n Cheese and artichokes, and my hubby's birthday wouldn't be the same without his favorite Cream Cheese Pie.
My cooking triumphs
I am extremely proud of the fact that I have taken our typical American diet (loaded with junk), and turned it into something so much more. We eat mostly local and organic foods - many from my own garden, I am proud to say. We have collectively lost weight, gotten more active, and definitely become healthier. And all while exploring all kinds of delicious new cuisine!
My cooking tragedies
I have had my share of accidental overcooking, that is for sure. And I am a true Klutz, so there have been a lot of 'slip and fall, spilling the delicious food all over the place', too. I can't think of one particular meal that was hopelessly flawed though, so I guess I am a lucky girl!
