Habenero Pepper Jelly
Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I
About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I have been really in to appetizers this summer and have made several dips and salads. I love to bake but am trying to break away from the usual banana bread and cookies every now and then. I would like to get into breads and stews this winter.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My father has been a bread baker my whole life and completed culinary school with a focus on pastries. I grew up eating traditional Indian cusines along with Thai and good 'ol Americana.
My cooking triumphs
I made a delicious vegetarian hot pot many years ago that was really good. I have made several dishes that taste great but I am shooting for dishes that will both look great and taste great right now. I really enjoy the photo sharing option on this site. I get to work on my cooking and photography skills at the same time.

Habanero Pepper Jelly
Excellent pepper jelly but mine turned out way too thick. This was my first jelly attempt so i need to do some research on how to fix that. I only used 12 habeneros instead of all 15 and it is plenty hot for me. Gloves are a must and I think I will use a nose/mouth mask as well as some eye gear, I was hurtin' while seedin' those things! Definitely will try again for the perfect consistency.

Anna's Amazing Easy Pleasy Meatballs over Buttered Noodles
I thought this dish was very good. I used an 18oz can of french onion soup as opposed to the two cans the recipe called for in an effort to avoid the over-powering onion taste others complained of. I also used organic sour cream, a couple of dashes of Worcestershire sauce, and skipped the butter on the noodles. The dish is yummy and a good winter treat.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
I followed some of the suggestions below when I made this. I bought fresh chicken but ended up freezing it. I used organic chicken broth instead of water and organic frzn peas, corn, and carrots. I added two dashes of cumin a little chili powder and salt and pepper. I used the recommended type and portion of the cream of chx soup but was disappointed that the broth did not turn out thicker. All in all, this tasted very good. I used two cans of biscuits but found that it was way too much and that the ones on top (that could not be fully submerged) did not cook and had to be scraped off and tossed. I would recommend using only one can of biscuits and cutting them with a pizza cutter did seem to help.
