Sausage and Vegetable Risotto

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2013
This was ok. It was good, but nothing special and a lot of work for what it was. I may or may not make it again.

Creamy Pesto Gnocchi with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2013
I thought this was very delicious and quick. I did add a small onion, diced. The recipe probably would have still been fine without it. I forgot to buy a red bell pepper, so had to settle for a green one that I had at the house. I imagine it did affect the taste slightly and certainly the beauty of the dish. I will definitely make this again, and next time I will be sure to get the red pepper.

Grands!® Easy Taco Melts

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2013
I made these for supper tonight. I did remember to add the taco seasoning as recommended, and also added about 1/4 cup of water so everything would blend smoothly and not be gritty or dry. I doubled the cheese. Everyone agreed they were good, but lacked a little something. I will make them again and maybe add some refried beans and maybe a little bit of onion. I would love to try making these with the cornbread twist dough.

White Chip Orange Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2012
The orange flavor was barely detectable. Too many white chocolate chips. These were almost too sweet. Maybe macadamia nuts would improve the taste. Or perhaps a touch of cinnamon.

Sweet and Salty Toll House® Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2012
They were good;Something a little different, but nothing spectacular. I really thought they would be amazing, but something just seemed missing...or maybe it is just that there is so much going on you cannot detect any certain taste.

Linguini with Roasted Vegetables and Tomato Basil Chicken Meatballs

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2012
This was good and probably would make again. Not as successful as I had hoped with family. We were unable to get the meatballs,so we used the chicken Italian sausage, and fettuccine instead of linguini.

Chicken Celery Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2012
This was very yummy. A definite comfort food! I added a cup of frozen mixed vegetables instead of just carrots. Not everyone in my family likes mushrooms, so I omitted those. Added a bit more chicken, a little more poultry seasoning. This was wonderful. We served it over egg noodles as one other reviewer suggested. I wish the sauce was a little thicker and creamier though.

Ground Beef and Sausage in Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2012
This was good, but definitely lacked something for me. The proportion seemed off on some of the ingredients. I added a cup of chicken broth because it turned out rather dry. Nice base recipe for someone to start with and embellish to their family's liking. I will make this again and try changing things up a bit.

Pork Enchiladas

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2012
The whole family rated this one a keeper! I put country style ribs, some diced onion, black pepper, a bit of garlic, fajita seasoning, and 1 cup of chicken bouillon in the crock pot on low for about 6 hours. Let it cool some and then shredded it. I did everything else pretty much the same although I did add a bit of the fajita seasoning to the tomato soup and a little taco sauce. Definitely not for those looking for healthy or low calorie, but it is very tasty and makes a wonderful family meal or excellent choice for a potluck dinner.

Crescent Dogs

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2012
Easy and added a different twist to hot dogs. We used the garlic crescents. Didn't care for the American cheese...going to make again and try something else and maybe a little less. Many ways you could add to or change this up!

Lemon Blueberry Dessert

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2012
Easy and delicious! Could adjust to make low fat or low sugar. Very light and refreshing in hot weather. I didn't have graham crackers to add as others suggested which I think would be wonderful or added to individual graham cracker crusts or even one deep-dish 9 in. one. I sprinkled broken pieces of Fiber One on mine and it was good also. Lots of possibilities. I did have to add lemon juice to get a detectable lemon flavor.

Southern Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2012
This potato salad is very similar to one I normally make and very good...nothing really to make it stand out above others though. I left out the relish as my family doesn't care for it. I may or may not make this again. Definitely worth a try for those who haven't done so yet.

Italian Chicken Sausage Risotto

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2012
A hit with the whole family! Recipe unclear. Parmesan cheese isn't even in the ingredients list and it says put 1/4 up in at one point and the remainder at the end. Ended up just adding another 1/4 cup and it was great : )

Whimpies

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2012
This had a wonderful flavor! I like that it has all the veggies in it also. I thought it would be thicker in consistency; used a slotted spoon. The recipe does not specify to drain the grease off the meat before adding the rest of the ingredients, but I would suggest it.

Blueberry Congealed Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2012
Had lots of compliments on this and people asked for seconds to take home. It came out of the mold fairly easy, but the cream cheese layer didn't set as well as it should have even after a longer time than suggested. I may just put in a cake pan next time and put cream cheese layer and nuts on top. I used 1 cup of chopped nuts to get even coverage. I was able to find blackberry fusion Jello so that is what I used and blueberry pie filling.

Easy and delicious! Took this to our small group and one of the ladies who said she normally doesn't eat coleslaw said it was good.

Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2012
One of my best friends, and my husband, both have birthdays in February and they both love carrot cake. Somehow I lost the recipe I have used for years and decided to look on All Recipes to see what I could find. They both wanted it kept simple and no nuts...this cake was very moist and flavorful. I did however, add a tsp. of baking powder suggested by others and a 1/4 tsp. Allspice. ( I did not use the frosting recipe listed with the recipe. )

Fiber One® Chocolate-Peanut Butter Haystacks

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2012
A fast delicious treat with only three ingredients and no need to heat the oven....gotta' love that! Only one bowl and whatever you you use to measure the peanut butter to wash. My family enjoyed them; it was a great way to serve them some fiber. I used my cookie scoop coated with spray oil to measure out and shape the haystacks. I would make these again, especially if I need something quick. The only real down side to me is the aspartame. I'm not a huge fan of artificial sweeteners.

Slow Cooker Latin Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2012
I used frozen chicken tenderloins since they were on sale BOGO and added corn as some other reviewers suggested. I also added a 1/2 cup extra of broth as others were commenting on not enough liquid. I ended up with too much...maybe because I put the chicken in frozen? If I make this again I will not add extra. I will wait until the closer to the end to add the cilantro or at least part of it so it is not so soggy and has a bit more intense flavor. I put this in the slow cooker for about 4 hours on high. All in all it tasted good and looked great...wasn't a family favorite though.

Slow Cooker Sausage with Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2012
Awesome! Will definitely make again. My hubby said it was the best sausage sub he's ever had and the recipe is a keeper. Did follow others advice about cooking the sausage some before starting it in the slow cooker to avoid all the grease and added cheese. The meat was tender and the flavors were well infused.
