My favorite things to cook
I love to bake but I also love to make healthy meals. I have a very picky eater at home so I love to try new recipes that I think they'll like.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas my mom makes a pastry that is made with phyllo, fruit and nuts and is sweet. She hides a $2 coin and whoever finds it (or bites into it) is said to have good luck for the coming year!!

Awesome Baked Sea Scallops
I've made this recipe many times, and its always delicious. I have used traditional bread crumbs as well as panko. Both are good. I usually serve these over a cauliflower puree along with roasted asparagus.

Simple Turkey Chili
This has a great hit of spice to it that I loved. I added a chopped carrot and celery just to give it some crunch. I also ended up letting it simmer for an extra 15 mins bc it was too watery and I like chili to be a bit thicker. I've made this recipe 3x now and its always great!

Indonesian Satay
A great recipe! I make this once a week. I don't make the peanut sauce. I'm not a fan of it. It just tastes like peanut butter, and I can't taste any of the other flavours so I don't make it. The marinade for the chicken is amazing! I would give it 5 stars alone! I usually let it marinade for 4 hours but I've even done 24 hrs while taking it camping. I make it as written but I use toasted sesame seed oil instead of peanut oil and I add red chili peppers bc we like a little heat. I bbq the chicken or I'll make it on the stove as a stir fry. I like to serve this on top of sticky rice or along a salad.
