About this Cook
I've been married since 2003, and have 2 beautiful kids: a boy born June of 2005 and a girl born Dec of 2007. We live out in the boonies, outside of a small town. I'm trying to improve my cooking as well as trying new recipes constantly.
My favorite things to cook
Anything that is fairly simple, and new things. I love my slow cooker, I use it as much as 3 times a week sometimes. I go through phases where a bake quite a bit, even though I don't eat any of it, lol.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love baking around the holidays...our family was and still is very food oriented for any special occasion.
My cooking triumphs
Blueberry pie, completely from scratch...it was gone in a couple of hours and hardly seemed worth it, lol. I love it when I can try something new and have it be a delicious success.
My cooking tragedies
There once was a time I couldn't cook spaghetti. Thankfully I can say that's changed.

Double Tomato Bruschetta
This was a big hit! And once you have the mix together, very easy to make more quickly, which came in handy!

Creamy Dill Dipping Sauce
The longer it sits in the fridge the better it tastes. I made it the evening before the party, and after letting it chill for a couple of hours, I tasted it, and it was ok...but by the next day it was much better and a huge hit!

Kahala's Macaroni Seafood Salad
Despite mixed reviews I tried it, and I'm glad we did! My husband had 3 helpings. I used bowtie pasta, and imitation crab (double the amount). Otherwise, I followed everything, and it was great. It did make a lot, and most of my extended family doesn't eat seafood, but that was the only downside!
