About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are probably barbeque and cultural dishes. I love trying new foods and experimenting with making new things at home.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We don't have too many cooking traditions in the family. We alternate as to who cooks on Thanksgiving and Christmas for the family, but other than that we don't do too much tradition-wise.
My cooking triumphs
I've had a few. My first one was a london broil I made on our outdoor gass grill. It came out sooo good and everyone went nuts over it, it almost melted in your mouth and it was very tender. Sadly, I don't remember what I marinated or seasoned the meat with.
My cooking tragedies
I've had a few of these too. Mostly its cooking "experiments" gone haywire....things usually end up too spicy. One that sticks in memory was a steak I was cooking that I used a bottled seasoning to season it. I used way too much of a strong product. It was terrible. Other than that, I've created a lot of food that is really awesome, but I never measure what I put in it or I rarely remember what I put in it, so it makes it hard to duplicate the recipe again.

Banana Pudding with Meringue
The pudding was as thin as water and the brown sugar made it the color of coffee and creamer. I didn't even get to the point of assembling the pudding, since the pudding part came out so horrible. I think I'm just going to head back to the store and buy a dessert or make the best of it and try using the bananas for a banana cream pie. I wanted to live this recipe, but since it wasn't edible after following the directions to a tee, I can't.

Flourless Chocolate Cake I
We decided to try this recipe because we are on the South Beach Diet and wanted a dessert but we can't have white flour on the diet. The ingredinets were cheap to buy and the cake was easy to make. We didn't have too much of a problem with it sticking to the pan at all. The cake is good, but other people wanting to make this should probably be aware that its more brownie-like or fudge-like in texture/taste than cake-like. Very good though and will definitely make it again.
