Six Week Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
These muffins are just what I was looking for. In need of a snack for breakfast or anytime? This will fit the bill. These muffins are very moist. I even made mine with 1/2 whole wheat flour. I cut down on the fat by using half applesauce and half butter. I also used half brown sugar and half white sugar. Scaled recipe down to 36 servings and now I am sure that I should have at least doubled it. I don't see these lasting around my house too long. I also used the fake buttermilk trick of 1 tbs of lemon juice to 1 cup of milk. You can add anything to these muffins and it will only be better. My first batch had cherry flavored craisins and a few white chocolate chips, topped with a sprinkle of raw sugar. The next batch will have chopped candied pineapple. The combinations are endless! Just use your imagination. Thanks Dee for such a great recipe!

I halved this recipe. They turned out delicious, all though they took more than 30 min to cook. Will make these again!

Tofu Tacos I

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2011
I love this recipe. I froze my tofu overnight to get a true "meat" texture. Hubby did not even know it was tofu mixed with lean turkey! Will definitely be making this again.

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Family enjoyed this. I put my usual spin on things. Adding onion, carrots, and celery finely diced and sauteed in butter and olive oil. This recipe is a good base to build to your individual taste.

Oyster Sauce Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2011
This is an awesome and easy dish to make. We loved the flavor of the sauce, allthough after reading other's reviews, I did cut back the sugar to 1/2 a cup. I used 1/4 cup brown and 1/4 cup white. I also added about 1 tsp. of minced ginger. I can't wait to use this on shrimp and pork chops too!

I gave this recipe 4 stars. I made this soup with the addition of cream of chicken soup made from this site. I also added about 1/4 cup of torn cilantro. Served this with some Mexican cornbread. Family all raved about it. Will make this again.

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
I made this for my family a few nights ago. They all loved it! I made my pie with ground turkey to cut some of the fat down. I really like the flavor that you get from the beef broth and ketchup mixture. Try this one, you won't regret it.

Mayonnaise Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
I didnt have self-rising flour on hand, so I used the suggestion of another and made it by adding baking powder and salt. These biscuits would have been great, but they were too salty. I give them 2 stars for ease of assembly, and one more star for fluffiness. Next time I will use only about 1/4 tsp of salt.

Beef and Noodles in Crockpot

used 2 lbs of meat and one can of french onion soup and two cans of condensed mushroom soup. Seasoned and floured the meat, then slightly fried it in oil before adding it to the soups. Also used half of a can of beef consommee'. I deglazed the pan with 1/4 cup of water and 1/4 cup of sherry. The family loved this! Will definetly add this to my recipe box.

Almond Bars

I halved the recipe also and used an 8x8 pan. They took longer than stated to cook, and were still a little bit gooey in the middle. Taste was good though. Will make these again maybe in a larger pan.

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

I made this for dinner tonight. It was good. I thought that it could use a little more salt. Other than that, this is a good recipe. Texture of the breading reminds me of my favorite chicken restaraunt that is closed on Sundays!
