Jalapeno Popper Spread

Excellent recipe! This can be made ahead of time. Because I refrigerated it (minus the topping), it needed more cooking time. I covered it with foil and baked it in the oven for about twenty minutes. I then took the foil off and then added the topping(so it would not burn). I used twice the jalapenos. I also used Panko bread crumbs mixed with shredded parmesean cheese. I did spray the topping with a few sprays of Pam cooking spray. If you like jalapenos and cream cheese, you'll love this recipe. I think this recipe is best if not altered.

After-Thanksgiving Turkey Soup

I only gave this recipe four stars because I agree with some other cooks on the following changes: * use 1/2 of the flour called for * use 1/2 of the butter called for * add other spices to it like thyme and sage. With the changes I made my whole family LOVED it. This is a good recipe and deserves four or five stars. I just did not want to have a "chowder" and adjusted the amount of flour called for. Try this recipe, you'll probably love it too.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Made this yesterday for Thanksgiving. It deserves five stars, especially if you like sweet potatoes. They were creamy with a sweet, crunchy topping. The recipe is great as written.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Based on cooking this about 15 times: Grease pan well (use cooking spray). Ingredients need to be at room temperature. Mix everything slow, and by hand. Use "Philly" cream cheese (just a favorite). Bake at 325 degrees (not 350). Bake for only 60 minutes. Do not open oven for three or four hours! I've found that this makes a perfect, delicious, un-cracked, cheesecake! Really the best!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Pot Roast? Not my husband's favorite. In fact, he'd rather never have it. But, he liked this pot roast very much. He said that it was the "best I've had." I think the gravy is a plus. I followed the recipe exactly (I didn't brown the meat first). It took about five minutes to make- just open cans, mix and put the roast in- easy! I added carrots and celery the last 45 minutes. This is a keeper.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

This was salty and bland. Time would be better spent making a traditional recipe or Betty Crocker's chicken pot pie. It did taste like canned soup. However, my daughter, eight, did say "Oh, this is good!" But, my son (11), husband and myself felt that it was just average. In closing, I feel that this is a recipe that you won't be rushing home in excitement to eat.
