The Old Boy's Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2010
I made this recipe in a 9x13, substituting the sugar for Splenda and adding blueberries for a potluck luncheon. The fact that there was nothing left to take home, when there were three chocolate desserts competing for attention, tells me it was a hit! I will make this again on a smaller scale for the family.

Garlic Aioli

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2010
My husband is super-picky with a list of ingredients I can't cook with so when I made this for myself as a dip for steamed artichokes, I never considered that he might want to try it. When I went to get some I found he'd stolen it off the counter and was putting it on his tuna sandwich. I knew I'd found a keeper!

Fried Rice Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2009
This isn't the best fried rice but it is definitely the easiest to throw together and is good enough to satisfy everyone's craving. We cook it with cut up pork chop for a quick meal.

Blueberry Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2008
I LOVED IT. I did have to make some changes. For one, we didn't have enough blueberries. So I made it with blueberries, peaches and apples (Fruit Crumb Pie?). I also ommitted the lemon zest because we didn't have that either. It was a bit juicier than we would have liked, made the crust soggy. So the second time I made it, I drained the frozen fruit better and added a touch more cornstarch. PERFECT. I've already made it 4 times and I just added this recipe 2 weeks ago. I'm going to make my family fat on it! YUM.

Beer Brisket

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2008
I rarely make brisket because it always turns out dry but this was anything but! I made a small brisket, 2 lbs, and only cooked it for 2 hours but other than that, I followed the directions. We had Heineken, so that's what I used. It was sooo juicy and tender!
