Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2013
Absolutely phenomenal! I followed another user's suggestion and marinated the chops for about 10 hours in 2 parts apple sauce and 1 part soy sauce, and it definitely helped keep the chops super moist and juicy! I also made sure to make 3x's the sauce, and that was the perfect amount for 4 chops. I served mine with mashed potatoes and green beans. YUM! Sweet and savory, the flavors balance out beautifully. The only recommendation I have is if you top it with pecans, make sure they're roasted :)

Banana Pancakes I

Reviewed: May 1, 2012
Simply amazing recipe! I'd bought overripe bananas from my grocery store at the end of the night when they're on clearance ($.42 for 4 bananas!) so was looking for something to do with them. This recipe is DELICIOUS! Most recipes don't use enough bananas to really infuse it with the flavor, but this one is perfect. I added in walnuts and some cinnamon and vanilla extract. You could easily add in strawberry jam or bits of strawberries. This recipe gets a 5 because not only is it delicious, it's extremely versatile!

Hearty Multigrain Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
Wow. That's all I have to say. I followed this recipe with the exception that I used ONLY whole-wheat flour. I used the 1.5 pound loaf, whole-wheat setting with a dark crust (I prefer a darker crust - just my preference). It is a slightly small loaf, but for two people it's PERFECT. I'll probably make this twice a week. Next time I'm going to use 1.5 cups flour and 1/2 cup quick oats to make it even heartier!

Oat Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2011
This was AMAZING! I didn't want to make a large amount of bread since there are only two people in my household, so I halved the recipe. I don't have a candy or insta-read thermometer, so I actually used a regular digital read thermometer to make sure the milk was at the right temperature! I didn't add the wheat gluten (as many other people recommended), but I made sure to knead the dough for the whole 8 minutes to break up the gluten already in the wheat flour. For this reason, I had NO problems with it rising properly. I ended up making two sub-sized rolls with half of this recipe. It is VERY light and fluffy without being sticky, much like what you'd buy in the supermarket! This recipe is a great starting one - you could easily change the type of flour and/or add in other ingredients like sunflower seeds, crushed nuts, fruits, herbs, or anything you like! Definitely a keeper!

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2010
This recipe is FANTASTIC! I was only cooking for me and my fiance, and so scaled the recipe down to 4 servings. The pancakes are very light & fluffy. I cooked them on medium-low in a skillet with melted butter (it adds delicious flavor!) They are so fluffy - IF YOU DON'T OVERMIX. The batter will NOT look like what you get in the box - it will look like a lumpy mess, but don't worry. When it starts cooking, it will fill out and become like a delicious pancake! Five stars!

Classic Waffles

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2010
These were SO DELICIOUS! I added a little extra sugar for more flavor, but other than that I followed the recipes. They were light, very fluffy, and didn't sit heavily like store-bought mixes do. I made it in my blender (as per a suggestion in a rating), and that made them so quick. You could easily alter this recipe to make wheat, fruit, or chocolate chip waffles. I highly recommend this for its simplicity and deliciousness!

Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 25, 2010
These pork chops are TO DIE for! They're so juicy and flavorful! I actually ended up using the amount of seasoning for only 3 pork chops, though, so if you're going to make more, I would recommend doubling the spices. But as is, the recipe is AWESOME! My fiance, who doesn't like pork very much, LOVES these! Totally 5 stars!

Delicious Black Bean Burritos

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
This recipe is very good, and you don't even realize that it's very healthy for you! I don't eat dairy, so I just used tofu cream cheese, and it came out just as good. If you like tomato you could probably add tomato, or even salsa. I used a little extra jalapeno, because I wanted a bit more spice. I also used sprouted grain tortillas, and it came out soooo good! Great for vegans the way I made it, and great for an acid-alkaline diet!

London Broil I

Reviewed: May 30, 2009
Beyond amazing! The only thing I did different was I used 4 cloves of garlic, because we loooove garlic. And my boyfriend DETESTS ketchup, so I used 2tbs Worchestershire sauce instead. This recipe is beyond amazing, and is now a favorite of mine and my boyfriends!

Baked Ziti I

Absolutely fantastic! I used Premio thin-rolled sausage (basil and cheese), cooked it, then cut it into small coins. It worked beautifully! Delicious recipe. EXTREMELY cheesy!

Creamy Potato and Leek Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
It tasted okay, as written. I used slightly less potatoes, and half cream, half 2% milk, and that made it soup-like. However, once I added in shredded cheddar cheese, it became PHENOMENAL. As listed, 4 stars. With cheddar cheese added, 5 stars!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2008
This recipe is AMAZING. I made it to simply be slightly healthier than regular chocolate chip cookies. Little did I know that these would turn out to be five times better than plain chocolate chip cookies! It's like a combination between oatmeal cookies and chocolate chip cookies. It's the basic toll-house dough with oats, and it's the perfect balance and combination. I excluded the nuts, and the recipes is just as amazing. This is now my boyfriend and mine's favorite kind of cookie that I bake!
