About this Cook
I have been married to my life partner and best friend since 2001. She is and always will be my most important cooking audience. We also have a very hungry boy who will eat almost anything. This will be my 20th year to teach Special Education. I love my job! I enjoy almost anything that is creative, active and fun.
My favorite things to cook
I love to try anything and everything when it comes to cooking. I typically consider a recipe a suggestion. My favorite thing to cook though is fried chicken.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our son loves to help in the kitchen. It is so neat when he and I put together a meal.
My cooking triumphs
It seems most of my cooking triumphs have come out of having no money and needing to be creative with what I've had. Of course, I think that is where most of the tragedies have come from also. Being a teacher often puts one in that situation.
My cooking tragedies
White Rice and Cream Cheese just don't make a very exciting or tasty combination. There have been many dishes that hit the trash can before they hit the table and there have been many more that most likely should have. As with most things, if you put enough cheese on it, it always makes it taste better.

Brown Sugar Chops
This was one of the best recipies I have found for pork chops. They were melt in your mouth delicious and so simple to make. My family wants them again.

Pineapple Sweet Potato Souffle
I have been making this for a couple of years now. I took it to a family dinner and it was the hit of the meal!

Huckleberry Muffins
Huckleberries grow wild right in my backyard so I can pick to my heart's content. This recipe really makes the berries pop. My boys want huckleberry muffins now every breakfast. I also used this same recipe to make cherry muffins with the cherries from our tree. They were great also. Blackberries are next!
