Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2009
The flavour was amazing. I did, however, halve the required balsamic vinegar. That reduced the sauce unfortunately, which I did not think about

Banana Leaf Seafood

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
I used dory fish. I do not if it was because I used fish instead of squid but it was way too salty. The belachan was overwhelming.

Tofu with Pork and Cashews

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2008
Excellent!I would however, fry the tofu whole before slicing it. Much easier than turning over the tofu slices.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2008
This was very good.I read the reviews and added 1 tsp. vanilla, and 3/4 tsp. cinnamon to the muffin batter. also used canola oil in place of melted butter and 1/2 c. white sugar and 1/4 c. brown. In the crumb topping I increased the cinnamon to 1/4 tsp. I added the crumb topping 5 minutes before taking them out of the oven, as suggested by one user. That was a bad idea, because the muffin tops have already hardened. The next time, I will follow the original recipe in adding the topping together with batter. Also, the topping was too much. I think about 3/4 of what the recipe called for would be enough.

Chicken and Cashews

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
Nothing very spectacular but it's a good simple dish. We found it too salty. Will cut the soy sauce by 1/3 the next time.

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2008
This was really tasty. I used unsalted cashews though. I would definitely toast the cashews the next time I make this.

Grilled Fish Steaks

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2008
This was very tasty. I used dory instead of halibut.I added more garlic and lemon juice and used 3/4 of the required oil.I cut down on the salt and even then, it was quite salty. So I suggest tasting the marinade and gradually add salt to taste. The next day, I cooked the leftover dory fish with the leftover marinade and it tasted great as well!

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2008
This was great and easy to make. The bacon and onion weren't enough so we doubled what the recipe asked for.

Chocolate Surprise Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2008
This was really good. Everyone who tried them said they were moist and very rich. I'm just starting out so I did mess up the recipe a bit but for a beginner, this recipe turned out very well
