World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2012
I would say this recipe is really good except we hated the Italian sausage part. It didn't make the meat sauce taste any better but gave it a weird flavor. I loved everything else about this recipe and I stayed right with the ingredients, only following other reviewers suggestions about the salt, sugar and nutmeg. Overall, I think without the Italian sausage this would be the world's best lasagna. If you like Italian sausage, you'll love this. If not, eliminate it all together or you'll wish you did! Just add more ground beef and increase the spice amounts.

Caribbean-Spiced Pork Side Ribs

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2012
Did not like the oregano with it, but then again, i'm not really an oregano person. I ended up scraping it off the ribs and adding a BBQ sauced called Irene's BBQ sauce that I found on here, and put them back in the oven. Recipes are worth a shot and I like trying new things, but this didn't work for my family. Hopefully the BBQ sauce will mask the pungent oregano flavor. Good luck!

Irene's Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2012
I really like this recipe! It's exactly the way I like my bbq sauce! The only change I would suggest is use way less oil, as it is oily. I used just a pinch less, but next time will cut it in half. Wish I doubled this recipe, it's that good! Making ribs tonight for dinner and wanted a homemade bbq sauce to slather on them! This ones a keeper!

Cream Cheese Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
Great, easy pound cake! I was told by a wise older cook to put a cup of water in the oven with the cake for moisture. It always turns out so moist and delicious!

Best Fried Green Tomatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2011
I LOVED this! I added a small handful of corn grits (Polenta) to the bread crumb/corn meal mixture! So good! I didn't have regular plain corn meal, so I used a box of Jiffy!! I made this with my 2 year old little guy and he asked for more!! A quick sprinkle of sea salt while they're still hot- man, this is the way to begin Fall!!

Strawberry Cake from Scratch

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2010
I thought this was very good! I, too, added the yolks in alone and whipped the whites until soft peaks formed. After adding all the ingredients together, including the strawberry puree, I folded in the whites. It baked up perfectly- and I used a buttercream frosting made up of 1 stick softened unsalted butter, 1 8z package of cream cheese, 1 Tbsp pure vanilla extract and 1lb of confectioners sugar. Came out great and my husband raved about it! It didn't last long!!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies III

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2010
LOVE this cookie! My little 15 month old boy "helped" me make these cookies! My husband said they were really good! Oh I just love chocolate cookies!!!! YUM! Try these! The powdered sugar sounds weird, but you need it!

Simple Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2010
I really liked this recipe but I too added 2T yellow mustard and Worcestershire sauce instead of Soy. It helps break up the tomato pasty taste. I also had a red pepper on hand that needed to be eaten so I chopped it up with the onion. Tastes good now but I made it ahead for dinner tomorrow! Hope it will taste even better then!

Sweet and Sour Meatballs III

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2010
I honestly thought my review would be like the others, "oh these were fabulous", but on the contrary. I made these for my sons 1st birthday party- and I still regret it!!! The sauce doesn't go with meatballs AT ALL!! I wish I would have just made the easy sweet meatballs instead of trying to impress people with something new. I love trying new foods, new recipes, and I love everything- so this was surprising. I will never make this again!
