Cowboy Caviar

I used a bag of frozen mexican veggie mix, it was already seasoned and chopped so it made it extra easy. I left out the peppers for personal preference and used taco seasoning and garlic salt. We put the caviar in the middle of openfaced cojack cheese and bacon quesadillas. It was so good! We ate the leftovers with chips and then made more!!! It was so easy. It took like 5 minutes to make the caviar and like 10 to do the quesadillas--yummo!

Cornish Pasties III

I had the oppertunity to visit Michigan's UP this past summer and found this delightful treat too good to resist! We had been purchising premade pasties from the grocery store and they stopped carrying them! So, what does a good cook do? Make and freeze a dozen of these! Delicious! Just as good as the UP's delight and we could add the items that we like and omit the ones that we don't! Like an English Calzone!

Grilled Sausage with Potatoes and Green Beans

I made this recipe 3 times in the past 2 weeks! First time ever that we had no leftovers and my family was asking for more! Cooks very well in a crock pot and takes about 4 hours if the ingredients are put in frozen(I prepared 4 meals in freezer bags and just stuck them in the freezer), I put the butter in after it's done cooking.

French Silk Chocolate Pie

A really great pie! It was the first pie tin to be emptied and everyone wanted another piece. The only thing I would do differently next time is to add more than 3 oz of the chocolate to the filling, it was good, but not quite as chocolatey as I prefer.

Tea Biscuits

Very good! This is the first time I have made hand made biscuits and I couldn't have picked a better recipe. I usually turn away from recipes that use a pastry cutter, but these were not a mess at all! Perfectly fluffy and moist, just enough of everything. Great with sausage gravy. Very easy to make.

Simply Sensational Truffles

Maybe I'm inept, but this recipe was nothing but a huge mess. They were good, but it was really hard to cover the centers with chocolate without getting it all over the counter and my fingers. I think I'll pass on making these again.

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

When I was a teenager I worked for a man, who each year, cooked this soup for Kinship Partner's soup cook-off. He would make it in the restaurant, never devulging the century old family recipe, for fear that he would loose the contest due to an imatation. This soup is almost as good as his (I think that he had a couple secret Hungarian ingredients)! I wish I could eat this every day and keep my figure, the addition of bacon was really good, we served this soup for the first course at a dinner party and it was a hit!! Thanks contributer!

Hot Fruit Salad

We thought that it was pretty good. We left out the oranges just because of the thought of hot orange pieces was not very appetizing. I also added a graham cracker & brown sugar crust on the bottom and crumbles on the top to give it more of a rounded texture and a little more of a cobbler flavor. With the additions I will definetly make it again!
