About this Cook
I am a Mom of 6 little girls, ages ranging from 15 to 2, and they all have something. If you consider my husband a child that makes 7; they eat what the others love. But I still love him dearly. In 2007 he was sent to Iraq, which sucked on so many levels. I couldn't really cook; he is the cook. We used to have wonderful dinner partys. I had to learn quickly. My poor little girls,at the time just 3 little girls, became my guinee pigs, along with some of my friends. Luckily it wasn't so bad. Now I take joy in cooking for them. My husband is constantly telling me how much he loves my cooking and baking. I so love to cook and bake now. Its at the top of my hobbies. This site has also made it easy to branch out and change recipes that I already love into something of my own.

I can make Flan. Growing up, I watch my mother in horror make it. Not so fond memorys of it. Don't realy know what she did wrong. I just remeber it being an all day event and half the time coming out right.

Chewy Coconut Cookies
love it! We used unsweetened coconut and banana extract; kinda ran out of vanilla. But it still came out great and just the right amount of sweet. :)

Fresh Garden Salsa
this is an awesome recipe. Very basic and easy to make on top of that. This one is a keeper. I was only able to make two jars, because this also good as pico de gillo (raw salsa), but I'll be making this from now on instead of buying it. The canning is a big plus.

Classic Apple Pie Filling
I was simply terrified to make this recipe, because this was my first time making something like this; I've pickled before. To cut to the end of it. . . it was really easy. We used apples that our children had picked, which we have in abundance of, that are mostly Macintosh and Cortland. We tested them in pastries and the were delish, and our girls all approved. The one thing that I would change is the amount of sugar to 2 cups, like one of the reviewers had mentioned; we don't eat a lot of sugary things. Looking forward to making a lot more.
