About this Cook
Just a small town gourmet enjoying the share with other foodies.
My favorite things to cook
Really? I have to have a favorite?
My favorite family cooking traditions
I just discovered that I am Norwegian and am dabbling with Lefse. Thanksgiving and Easter are my two favorite cooking holidays.
My cooking triumphs
Thanksgiving dinner in 1.75 hours for my brother who made a suprise visit. He wasn't going to have a Thanksgiving otherwise because he was working on the holiday.
My cooking tragedies
There are no tragedies, just helpful moments to reflect back on and improve.

Apple Brine for Turkey the Night Before Cooking
I love using this recipe! It never fails to make my turkeys moist. The Apple Juice is not meant to add apple flavor, no. (Perhaps using a few more quarts of apple juice (no water), and slicing some tart apples and adding them in would help if that is what you are aiming for.) ;)Hope you all enjoy, remember to gobble 'til you wobble.

Penne a la Vodka I
Very good recipe. I usually use marinara sauce instead of the tomatoes. Also a little diced green onion along with the yellow is yummy!
