About this Cook
Although I miss my mother's recipe index cards, the ones that are folded, stained and have comments written on the sides. This site offers so much more variety. I also enjoy the comments from other cooks.
My favorite things to cook
I use my grills (I have four of them) about three times a week. Steak and brisket have to be my favorites, but recently due to increasing waist sizes, I have been cooking more chicken.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making homemade eggrolls with the kids, the cousins and friends. I also love grilling on the beach with my family.
My cooking triumphs
In our house if you cook, you don't do dishes. I am not sure if this is a tradition or a triumph, but in any case it is my favorite rule.
My cooking tragedies
I placed a kitchen towel too close to the stove one time and started a small fire. My wife and kids still say this is the only thing I have ever burned. Ha Ha!

Easy Chocolate Bundt Cake Glaze
Kids loved this, I used it to glaze a marbled bundt cake. This would also be great on homemade doughnuts. Thanks for the recipe!

Beer Can Chicken
This is my favorite way to do chicken. Put it on the grill during pregame and take it off at halftime. You really don't need to check it. The hardest part is keeping people from opening the grill to see what is smelling so good. Experiment with different beers and rubs. Indirect heat is the key. Oh, one more thing all the pictures have the wings just sticking out, I like to tuck the tips behind the breast, it keeps them from getting overcooked. Save me a leg!!
