Best Beef Dip Ever

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2003
This was excellent, I used a rump roast, and added some peppercorns and just loved the flavor! Hubby loves au jus sandwiches, and he wants this again already next week... With the ease of being able to throw it all together in the morning and have dinner almost ready (I fixed a green salad to go with it) after work, I think he will get his wish! ;oP

Delicious Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2003
I was looking for a pancake recipe to make gift jars for breakfast baskets to give at Christmas... I tried this initially to see if I liked it enough to give away, and it was good, but a bit too heavy for my taste. I changed the original recipe a bit... I used one cup of white flour(eliminating the wheat flour entirely), reduced the salt to 1 tsp, and reduced the cinnamon to 1 tsp as well. I had rave reviews and half my family and friends requested the recipe for themselves... (the other half probably haven't tried it yet ;o) These are a hearty, delicious pancake! For a twist I also added chopped apple to the batter, which my finicky 2 year old granddaughter LOVED! Thanks for the recipe!!! Definitely worth a try.

Antoinette's Strawberry Freeze

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2005
This is fabulous! I did tweak the recipe a little, however. I used Splenda instead of sugar and used the low fat cream cheese and light whipped topping. Was so decadent. I also spooned chocolate sauce over each serving and topped with toasted pecans, a dollop of whipped topping and topped with a marachino cherry. Was a dessert for my Mom's birthday party (made two dishes), wonderful for a crowd instead of banana splits! Everyone loved it :o)

Cool Whipped Frosting

This is a good recipe. I vary the recipe with different flavors of pudding. Chocolate is great. Been using this recipe for 5 years now, and am currently using it on homemade ice cream cakes...yummy!

Mexican Bean Salad

Reviewed: May 2, 2001
This is DEFINITELY the best bean salad I have ever tasted. My Mom-in-law even loved it and she doesn't like beans! I have made it several times, and I always have an empty bowl by the end of the evening. One night I threw in some chopped leftover grilled chicken and had a marvelous meal. MMM Good!

Honey Nut Sticky Buns

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
These were delicious. I cheated and fixed the dough in my bread machine. Came out perfect. The honey gave such a wonderful flavor, and a soft "sticky" lick your fingers topping. We served these warm from the oven for Mother's Day brunch. I went home with an empty pan! They were marvelous!!!

Chili Rellenos Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2004
This is DELISH! I had forgotten about it. My Mom make this dish, with two exceptions. She uses diced chiles, and she adds 1/2 tsp garlic powder to the tomato sauce. I was so tickled to see this recipe, I gave her a call, and she said it is the same (virtually) as she fixed us kids when we were young! Glad to have it back in my recipe box! THANKS SO MUCH!!!!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie II

Reviewed: May 28, 2008
This recipe is delicious and super easy. I took someones suggestion to increase peanut butter to 1/2 cup. I also did layers for added eye appeal. I used the same amounts of ingredients, but set aside a little plain pudding, and whipped topping, before I mixed everything together. I spooned in the plain pudding in the bottom of a chocolate graham cracker crust, then added the mixture of the peanut butter/pudding/whipped topping, and then topped it all with the plain whipped topping. I also used someones suggestion of quartered peanut butter/chocolate candies sprinkled on the top. Looked fabulous, and no one knew how incredibly easy (and LOW FAT) it was! Was very rich and decadent. Definitely a keeper in my recipe box.

Kielbasa with Peppers and Potatoes

Reviewed: May 11, 2006
This is awesome, I make it with whatever color bell peppers I have on hand, one year we even grew the purple variety! Anyways, the only change I make is the addition of a medium diced onion cooked in with the potatoes. Yummy!

Awesome Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2008
These were good. Definitely a good place to start and tweak the recipe to your own tastes. I used leftover cooked/shredded chicken instead of the shrimp and added a half teaspoon of ground ginger. Fried up a few to start, and enjoyed them. My husband and I tried numerous dips to jazz them up a bit. Finally I ended up making a sweet and sour sauce from my trusty ole BC cookbook, and voila! We discovered the perfect little something that we were missing. I ended up mixing the sauce in with the other half of the filling and finished frying. They were awesome! I will make these again for sure, with my sweet and sour sauce. Would be awesome for game night!

These were very good. A friend made them for our Christmas party at work, and gave me this recipe, printed from this website, and wanted it for my Recipe Box. So simple and was a wonderful combination! Will definitely make these myself.

Banana Oatmeal Cookie

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2004
These were AWESOME. I actually added 2 cups of banana's, which made them very flavorful, and moist, added one cup of chocolate chips, with the nuts, and wowie! My new favorite cookie. Sent some to my son in Arizona, and he said they shipped well too! (didn't crumble all apart.)

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2003
YUCK! I am sorry, this recipe is not good. I remember loving my Mom's stuffed cabbage as a kid, with the ground beef, rice and tomato sauce, with lovely green leaves, and tender and fresh tasting. This was brown, and soggy, and blech. I was so excited to try this recipe, but so disappointed with the results...I followed the recipe to a T, as I had never made this before myself...I will never use this particular recipe again and unfortunately do no recommend it!

Lemon Orzo Primavera

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
I followed this recipe exactly, and found it rather bland, as did my family...I was disappointed after all the good reviews. I had quite a bit leftover, which I made into chicken noodle soup. It was great in the soup!

Chicken Flautas

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2007
These were wonderful, just what we were looking for, the only change I made was to use my husband's homemade salsa instead of the picante sauce. Served with spanish rice and extra condiments, guacamole, sour cream and more salsa. GREAT

Pepperoni Bread

Reviewed: May 17, 2012
This was a yummy "starter" recipe. I used my own bread dough from scratch, but followed the recipe as written after that. Was good. Next time I made with more fillings, as my family asked for more! Definitely a good one!
