Aunt Millie's Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2008
This recipes as is is simply not very good! If you read a few of the reviews you will see that most people liked it AFTER they changed alot of things. I would highly recommend that you watch the broccoli closely (don't want to overcook), tone down BOTH the salt & pepper (I thought the pepper would be o.k., but NO), the cheese should not be american & lastly change the topping to buttered saltines/Ritz -anything that you like (NOT croutons)

Good Burger

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
Amazing! -Great taste. Sweet AND Spicy, what else could be better. A bit more garlic & slightly less sugar for us, but ...Wow. My family just loves these burgers. I WILL be making these again!

Maple Dill Carrots

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
Wow, just wow!! My son actually ate his carrots & said they were good! I didn't even have dill so I had to use basil. It turned out fine.

Anniversary Chicken I

Very, Very good! You can play with the cheese if you want (use a bit of Feta), add more bacon or more onion depending on your preferences. We loved this. The breasts turned out really juicy.

Scrambled Eggs a la Jan

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2008
These are GREAT! -However, if you don't like shrimp scampi then you probably won't like these. The wine & garlic makes these perfect. If you want to add shrimp & a little green onion it would taste great. I plan on doing so next time I make these!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
I LOVE this recipe. It went over well with my family & we will be making this again!! I do agree... Sauce mixture on top (I put a drizzle on bottom of pan, 1/4 cup in meatloaf & the rest on top) Of course I doubled the sauce. Also, a dash of cayenne & worcheshire in sauce. Very finely chopped celery, carrots & green onion really add to this (My son didn't even notice the additions! I guess I chopped well.) Either add bread on bottom or be prepared to drain some grease off!! The taste is great, a little sweet, but if you only add half the sugar it also works! Yay!

Marshmallow Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
I like these & more importantly, my son adores them because as well as tasting good they aren't hard! However, I did change it a bit. Before adding marshmallows, I put in 3/4 cup of Karo syrup with butter & cooked till it was "hard ball stage" (when dropped into cold water) then I put in mallows & 1/2 cup brown sugar. It was a light caramel taste, coated well & I could easily form into balls! Yay

Best Ever Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
For me, this recipe is very good. However, you have to wait till the mixture comes to a soft ball stage. -Very soft if you want them to not be too hard! Soft ball stage & then mix with popcorn. Many times if the recipe says to just bring to a boil & then mix, it won't form balls & you get that big gooey mess I hear about. Hope this helps.

Easter Stuffed Eggs

I liked this, however my family hated it! If made again, I will make a few changes -use green onions, different topping & find something ANYTHING other than curry to use.

Easy, Crunchy Hot Dogs

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2010
These were a great idea, especially for something different. However, we had trouble getting much of a coating on them (even double dipping them) -We tried lots of techniques, but to no avail. Ours certainly did not look like they do in the picture!! It was fun to "play" & make dinner with my daughter, but I won't make these again without really changing the recipe up.

Leftover Roast Brunswick Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2011
This was great! I DID use the sweet barbeque sauce, but didn't use as much -thus it wasn't too sweet! I used a can of corn & found that this is very tasty, but much better if put over some rice or a piece of toasted bread. -Will make this again.

Carrot Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2011
YUM! This was so good. I didn't use celery soup. I was going to use mushroom & then add just a pinch of celery seasoning, but found that I didn't have any. Mushroom soup, thinly sliced radish, 1/4 of a onion!, grated sharp cheddar (with some left for the topping, just before you add the crushed ritz) I will def. add sliced water chestnuts too, next time (as another reviewer said) A hit!

Carrot Cashew Quiche

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2011
I did tweak this one. I took everyone's advice... Cut back on the butter, only 1/4 Honey, cut up the nuts & carrots more so they didn't sink to the bottom & I tossed in a dash of garlic powder & chopped a small 1/4 onion -Onion in the carrot mixture & garlic went in the egg... This is great! It was a hit & fun to hear my son tell me how he was so surprised that it wasn't awful like most other quiche recipes! lol (He normally doesn't care for Quiche!)

Not consistent, didn't turn out for me every time... I will use my Gram's old recipe. It's much better, but also uses the nutmeg AND Lemon! ~Perfect

Cafeteria Carrot Souffle

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
This was alright. I cut the sugar, cut the carrots smaller & cooked them longer, but...Well, I guess I should have payed more attention to the title. If you've had the original "Souffle" then you'll notice that this is indeed like something you'd find in a cafeteria! It's not smooth & doesn't quite remind me of a souffle.

My family just did NOT like this one. Usually we can make ourselves finish a dish, so as not to waste food... However with this, that wasn't the case. Will not make this again!
