This is an excellent dish but as stated before, it is better with Okonomiyaki Flour, which is seasoned. If you cannot find the flour, you can add a little seasoning salt to the flour to make it better. Though that is not exactly the same it will help the flavor of the batter significantly. Also, a traditional topping for Okonomiyaki is flaked dried bonito and a sauce that is very much like tonkatsu sauce. Many also like to add cupi (Japanese Mayonase)... Replacing the chicken with cooked shrimp or cooked, thinly sliced beef will make a few other good variations on the meal. Good Stuff!

Japanese Okonomiyaki

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2006
I like this recipe a lot; however, I prefer to use meats that aren't as salty as the cured meats, like beacon and ham... Fresh pork, beef or Chicken breast, sliced thinly and pan fried before combining with the pancake is very good. I really like this dish, though. Also, I like to cut the ribs out of the cabbage to make sure every bite of cabbage is tender.

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2005
Some of my family really liked it, others weren't so sure. I felt the sauce was a little strong but I don't have any real advice on making it better. I don't think I will be making this again.

Mandarin Shrimp and Vegetable Stir Fry

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2004
My whole family enjoyed this recipe. I thought the sauce needed to be a little less sweet so I reduced the amount of marmalade and increased the soy sauce.

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2004
This was excellent! Although the heat needs to be medium to keep from overcooking, the grill needs to be hot to keep the salmon from sticking. Excellent for the family and great to serve to guests.
