Robbi's M&M Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2011
These cookies are fantastic. There are a lot of people giving negative reviews for flat cookies. Unfortunately they aren't educated enough in baking to know when mostly brown sugar is used the cookies tend to be more flat. Which is why you need to use shortening to make up for that. Butter melts faster and therefore makes cookies spread more. I used half butter flavor shortening and half real butter simply for my own tastes not out of necessity. The other thing is chilling the cookie dough for at least 24 hours will enhance the flavor of the cookies and also make the dough easier to work with. Used my tablespoon cookie scoop to make even cookies. I also prefer my cookies slightly under baked so I only cooked them for 8 min. each. Allow to cool on the cookie sheet for at least 3 min. otherwise they are too fragile to move. Then transferred to a cookie rack. Also keep in mind if cooling on the cookie sheet there will be carry over cooking which can make the cookies crispier. Thanks for a great recipe! Will be used over and over in this household.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
This was not good at all. I followed the recipe exactly. The brown sugar was too sweet and the flavors didn't mesh well with meatloaf.

This is a regular in our household. It's super easy to make and we always have enough for leftovers the next day. I follow the recipe exactly.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
These definitely were not the best brownies. I'd say box brownies taste better. If you're looking for a professional brownie recipe pass by this one. Look only for one that actually melts butter and chocolate together instead of using any kind of powder.

Firecracker Bites

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2010
These were absolutely fantastic! They were super simile to mix together and were super yummy. The only problem was assembly as they didn't hold up through the entire assembly time. Next time I will maybe refridgerate before putting the top cookie ti firm it up some because it slid off the slide otherwise. Messy but great taste made up for it.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2010
These are the only chocolate chip cookies that my husband wants me to bake anymore. I've taken them to family dinners and they are always raved about. My friends constantly ask for the recipe. I only do have the recipe at a time. The whole recipe is ale ays too many cookies. I do add an extra 1/4 cup flour to firm up the cookies a bit sometimes then make ice cream sandwiches. Oh so yummy!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2010
This is such a simple yet delicious recipe. It's great because you can really put together any combination of fruit. Our family favorite is apples, bananas, red grapes and strawberries. I've actually never used any fruit preserve because the juices mix well with the sugars and thicken it up nicely. For the chips, I do use real butter instead of the spray but that's just out of personal preference.

The Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
These didn't really taste that great. The vanilla is overpowering and I like vanilla. There is also an after-taste that I can't really pinpoint either. I'm going to still with other cookie recipes from here.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Good recipe but definitely not bakery quality. They are light and fluffy but there is still a yeast taste to them. I'm going to keep trying different recipes.

Traditional Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
I knew the basic ingredients for mashed potatoes but never could quite get the proportions right. These were perfect! I warmed the milk and butter together before adding to the potatoes. I've never done that part before and I think it made a huge difference. Great recipe yet ever so simple =)

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
This is such a great recipe. I've made others that use evaporated milk for the sauce mix but this way is so much more simpler for an even better result. I use a pizza cutter to cut up the biscuits but I put the pieces in a bowl to coat with the cinnamon sugar just so I can make sure they don't stick to one another. Sometimes, I'll make a half batch of the sauce and poor that in the middle of the loaf then add more biscuit pieces on top then cover the rest with the remaining sauce. Gives a nice little surprise in the middle.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
AMAZING recipe! When I first met my husband he told me he didn't like cookies and didn't care for sweets. I made him these for his birthday shortly after we started dating and he devoured them! I roll the balls in sugar before baking them and it adds a great crunch to the outside. I've also done them on a cookie sheet as well as the mini muffin pans and either way works. But to get the cookie completely around the candy then it's best to use the muffin pan.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
I made this recipe for the first time this year and it will now be my new fudge recipe. I usually made the Fool-proof fudge by Eagle brand only for it's simplicity. This one is creamier, smoother, and just plain tastes better. It's more time consuming than the easier one but it's not difficult by any means. Thanks for an amazing recipe!

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
I make these every year for the holiday season. This recipe is much better than some out there because it uses less powdered sugar so it's less crumbly and sweet. I always line my pan with wax paper only to make it easier to pull out and cut up. Or using a silicone pan works really well too.

Pecan Praline Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
This is one of the easiest and best cookies. I have been making them for nearly 18 years it seems like (and I'm only 28!). Like others, I also add 1 tsp of vanilla when I add the nuts only due to preference not out of necessity. I read some of the reviewers saying that theirs turned out runny. In my experience, that only happens if the butter/brown sugar mixture isn't melted together correctly or the use of margarine instead of butter.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
This recipe had great reviews so I thought I'd give it a try for a cold night. Unfortunately, it wasn't very good. The end result was surprisingly salty; surprising since none was added to the pot. It was also fairly runny too.

Baked Potato Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
I have tried this recipe twice now. The first time I made it exactly according to the recipe. No one in the house would eat it. It was very bland and the bacon was really mushy. Now after reading some reviews I made some changes. I used 1/2 cup of butter and flour, I used half the amount of pepper (more for personal taste than anything), and I cut back the milk only using 3 cups and adding 3 cups of chicken broth. I also kept the bacon to put on the top instead of cooking with it. With my changes, the soup becomes 5-stars for our family!
