Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2012
I found this recipe many years ago in a paperback version of a Better Homes & Garden cookbook I had purchased at a news stand. It was and continues to be a big hit with my family as well as coworkers and friends whenever I have taken to a potluck or holiday gathering. I have even used the sauce on the mini hot dogs and people have liked them as well. I have substituted jellied cranberry sauce for the grape jelly sometimes too...both sauces taste great!

Grandma's Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2011
I'm one of those grandmas now, but when my children were growing up my mother taught me how to make these and even now have been told by my grown nephews and nieces one of their fondest memories when they stayed overnight at my house we sometimes had these for breakfast. Thanks for the memory!!

Walnut-Tarragon Chicken Tenders

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
I just made this for lunch and it was delicious! I substituted 1 cup of fat free half and half for the milk and since I had egg beaters, I used 1/4 cup of those instead of the egg. I also dipped half of the tenders twice in the two mixtures because I had so much left over and they were really crunchy and very good as well. Thanks for the great easy recipe, Dusty!

Watergate Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2008
This is one of my favorite recipes! I tasted Watergate Salad years ago, since I am from the DC area, it was very popular at restaurants and delis in that area. I was very exited to find this recipe and made it for a pot-luck lunch at work during holiday time. Needless to say, EVERYONE wanted the recipe! I prepared it as directe, but I think I may have increased the cool whip amount because it looked like it needed it and it still was great!

Sweet Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2008
I just tried this recipe with the following changes and additons: 1) Used 3/4 cup Balsamic vinegar and 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar instead of all distilled white vinegar. 2) Only used 1/2 cup of white sugar. 3) Substituted large red sweet pepper for the green pepper. 4) Added 1 16 ox bag of frozen, mixed vegetables ( a combination of carrots, broccoli, white beans, garbanzo beans and green beans with red peppers) that I "nuked" in the microwave for abt 6 minutes. Very yummy!
