Slow Cooked Corned Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
Wow! This is as good as it gets. I cut the recipe in half, put it in the crock pot and came home to the most delicious corned beef. This recipe was so flavorful. I did add cabbage at the end of the cooking time and even the cabbage tasted better. I was concerned that the flavors of garlic and peppercorn would be too overpowering, but it was perfect.

Creamy Coconut Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
I have been making this recipe for 5 years, since I printed it from allrecipes.com. There is nothing to say that could improve this cake. I brought it into work today for a birthday, and as usual it was a major hit, and I was asked for the recipe by several people. I usually make a yellow cake, in a sheet pan, and sometimes use a large container of whipped topping and a large bag of coconut. You don't need to do that, but I work with a lot of coconut lovers. They think I am amazing and they have no idea of how easy this was. I almost hate to tell them, lol.

Chocolate Mint Candies Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2009
All I can say is WOW these are good. I used Necco thin mints and the cookies look really great. These are so easy and taste so good. They are going to be my new bake sale cookie.

Creamy Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
This fudge is delicious. I was worried it would be too too sweet with all the sugar, brown sugar and marshmallow creme, but it turns out perfectly balanced. It makes a large amount of fudge, so I slice it in blocks and freeze some. This is a keeper.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
These pretzels are outstanding! I rub a little melted butter on them when they come out of the oven and soooo good. Just like the mall pretzels at a fraction of the cost. There is no way we would be able to use 12 pretzles, so I form the dough into pretzel shape and freeze 1/2 the batch. When we want them, I let them come to room temp, dip in the baking soda bath and bake. They are as good as fresh made. My nephew asks me to make these all the time.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
I make this bread several times every summer and grate and freeze zucchini so I can make this bread all year long. I've been waiting to pick my first zucchini of the season so I can make this bread. Finally! Today I picked my zucchini and it is time to make my favorite zucchini bread. You don't need to change this recipe. The only addition I make is a little sugar on top to give the bread that crunchy topping, which I love.

Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
I have been trying a lot of different pie crust recipes, trying to find the best tasting recipe out there. This recipe was delicious. I used the suggestions of others and used butter flavored shorting and plain shorting combined. I would suggest chilling the dough well before trying to roll it out. I was so anxious to try this dough, after I read all the great comments, that I skipped this step. I had plenty of dough left over to freeze for another single crust pie. Delicious!

Smoked Salmon Mousse

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
I have made this recipe exactly as written and also have made it adding thinly sliced scallions and omitting the roe. It is a great dip. I think it tastes better if you make it in advance and refrigerate it for a few hours before serving.

Cranberry Upside-Down Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
I made this exactly as written and it was delicious. I wouldn't change a thing. I wanted to make it fresh for work, so to save some time I made the topping ahead and put it in the pan and refrigerated it overnight. It came out perfect. I keep getting requests to make this again.

Cooky Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
I made these cookies exactly as written. They were great. I love chocolate as much as the next person, but this was a nice change. I made a batch and realized I better freeze the dough before I ate too many of them. I froze them in individual dough balls so I can pull them out and bake what ever amount I want to. The coconut flavor really comes through after the cookies cool.

Sausage Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
I love to put these out at family get togethers. They go fast. I add 1/2c minced onion and 1/4 tsp garlic powder. It adds moisture and extra flavor.
