About this Cook
Born in the Philippines and currently living in Iceland. A born food enthusiast. I like going to different restaurants and try different dishes. At home, I would usually try to imitate those I liked, trying hard to remember the ingredients I recognize from the food I recently tasted. I want to try new and exciting recipes that would satisfy my family┬┤s craving and love for good food.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking cakes, though I just started baking recently. Desserts, good thing I have not gained so much weight because of this. Am currently trying out different soups...really interesting for me.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom was the one who taught me how to cook at age 9. It was after then when I began to have interest on how other people make their food really taste good. My cousins and aunts were really good cook. They specialize in cooking pork and chicken, some of my favorites from what they cook are menudo, pork and chicken in pickles and red sauce, pineapple chicken, everlasting, hamonado.
My cooking triumphs
My first triumph happened when I was in college. Tried to cook for my friends and they liked it a lot. Then just a year ago, learned how to bake, some friends like my job as well and that keeps motivated in trying out new recipes.
My cooking tragedies
a lot. e.i. using 2 tbsp of baking soda instead of 2 tsp, thus creating a bitter cake. using too much liquid, making my cake gooey. hehehe and of course, forgetting that I have something inside the oven or on the stove, resulted to burnt food.
