Broccoli/cheese/rice casserole, peppakaka, lefsa, fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, deviled eggs, cinnamon toast and hot cocoa.

I won Best of Show with my Chedder/Herb quick bread at the Lincoln County Fair in eastern Washington! My peppakaka received second place.

Dutch Babies II
Great base recipe for making sweet, and/or savory Dutch Babies. When I made the sweet version, I added 1 tsp vanilla extract, a home-made dessert blend of spices with cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger, & cardamom and topped with warm maple syrup. I followed the suggestions of using room temp eggs & milk and it puffed up just fine then deflated to a light, eggy pancake. Next up...savory style!

Turkey Veggie Meatloaf Cups
Quick and easy and great for leftovers for the lunchbox! The second time we made these, we added some frozen zucchini and carrots to the veggie mix to help extend the turkey a bit more. This made the turkey cups a little more moist than the previous batch so I believe we'll increase the amount of couscous by a tablespoon or so to help off-set the extra water from the frozen veggies. We also used a barbeque sauce that was more spicy than sweet and we liked that much better. The recipe is a good base from which to give rein to your cooking creativity!

Easy Cinnamon Fudge
Easy and tasty. That's my type of recipe! I added a bit more cinnamon than what the original recipe calls for and also added a touch of cardamom because I like the combination. Next time I'll add some instant coffee or Via from Starbucks so it gives a mocha flavor to the fudge.
