I'm in my late 30s and live with my male partner Chris and no kids, one cat, two birds. We love the northwest and enjoy activities both outdoors and in.
My favorite things to cook
We love home cooking, and find ways to make it lower carb and healthy enough for my husband who is diabetic. Sometimes we splurge though on a real meal!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom has always used the crock pot for her favorite recipes, so I took my grandma's favorite recipes and converted them to crock pot too: Chuck roast, swiss steak, beef stew, as well as my Mom's spaghetti sauce.

Tuna Noodle Casserole IV
I love this recipe but here's how I change it: I add 1 cup peas; I only use 1 1/2 c noodles and I use rotini, they hold the sauce better; I only use half a can of milk to keep it thick; I use breadcrumbs instead of croutons and I only use a light dusting not a whole cup (probably 1/4 cup); and I use a small amount of black pepper and garlic powder (to taste). Other than that :) yum!

Kentucky Biscuits
excellent biscuits, they just take a little longer to cook than advertised. I subbed 1 cup of whole wheat pastry flower to make them just a little healthier, and Splenda for the sugar made no difference in taste at all. mmmm :)
