Pig Pickin' Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2012
Best spring/summer cake. This is just like the one Aunt Wanda used to make. Just fine as a 1 layer sheet cake - easier to tote and cut, frankly.

Chocolate Candy Bar Cake

Frosting is the thing - makes the cake. Everyone likes the pudding in it, says it makes it moist. I think it makes it a little rubbery - but it works well when it's refrigerated. I used choc chips and it worked out fine. Toasted the pecans and it make it incredible

This is just fantastic! Like others I added a tad of cinnamon to make it pop - but even without it, this is great stuff! Very easy for being so delicious.

Bacon Quiche Tarts

I've been making these for years with basically the same recipe - use only 1 egg though. The trick is to use the "cheap" biscuits - the small ones from Pillsbury - and stretch them out like little pizza crusts, then put them in the pan. Also, I add either Mrs. Dash or Everglades seasoning (whatever's on hand) to spice it up some. Makes the filling far more savory. Never had a complaint, nor any left over!

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
Wow. Terribly simple, but so good! As others said, use Onion Soup Mix rather than soup itself. If you're just judging by feel like I do, get the meat mixture to feel like a meatloaf mix - not too watery. When you pan fry, just let them sit and brown, don't mess with them until you're ready to flip, and they wont' fall apart. I also used the soup mix for the gravy - excellent. Just for kicks I sauted some onion slivers to add as a garnish on top. Still getting requests from the picky eater in my house to make it again! Great recipe. Thanks!
