I took some reviewers' advices and increased the cream cheese to 3 pkg, added 3/4 C sour cream for a lighter consistency. I cut the apples into chunks instead of slices...in some photos, it was done that way and i thought it looked more exciting. I would microwave the apples a little bit longer though, to get more juices out before putting on the cake. but it worked out fine over all, and it tasted really good:)
