About this Cook
I am a Japanese girl who is almost married and living in Hawaii. Every culture evolve around special food from every family and every regeon and I always loved surrounding tables with loved ones.
My favorite things to cook
I have been intrieged by magic of baking. As I was growing up, my mom never had a real oven, so I was not very famliar with baking. But I have been trying different baked food on this website, and I am falling in love with it! It's just so fun to see doughs coming out so differently than when I put them in the oven.
My cooking tragedies
One time, I baked a kabocha squash pudding. I had made this at least 3 times previously, so I was pretty sure what I was doing. But about an hour later, this pudding came out bubbling and flowing out of the pan. I was so confused why it had done that. I tasted a spoon full, and it tasted so disgusting! I think the kabocha was spoiled...i didn't taste it before I continued baking...that was the way worst experience of my cooking career.

Coconut Pumpkin Nut Bread
It is a very moist and tasty bread! a few changes that I made are: 1.Macadamia nuts instead of walnuts. 2.Reduced white sugar from 2/3 C. to 1/4 C. 3.Used sweetened shredded coconuts. I would for sure top the bread with some shredded coconuts, especially if you like coconuts, because it addes more coconuttie flavors and also it looks better. I would sprinkle the coconuts not right away but after it being in the oven for some minutes, and if you see it get browning before the bread is done, cover it with foil and it will turn out fine. Thank you for a great recipe:)

Cabbage Rolls II
I added steak spice and a minced clove of garlic in the meat and put bay leaf in the sauce. I took some people's advice and put the rolls in a baking dish and covered with foil and baked in the oven at 375f. It was delicious!

Marbled Pumpkin Cheesecake
This cheesecake was such a hit that I made it twice back to back for Thanksgiving dinner at church and at friends this year. My friend who claimed the pumpkin pie as one of the "must-have" items of thanksgiving declared that she would take this cheesecake over Pumpkin pie anytime!!
