Soft Sugar Cookies IV

Fast & Easy! I didn't want to decorate so I took half of the sugar that was meant for decoration and added it to the dough. I also used 1 tsp vanilla & 1 tsp almond flavoring. Perfect!

Frosted Rhubarb Cookies

A nice cookie with the same comfort value as an oatmeal cookie. That being said, next time I will add nuts and/or another fruit. The rhubarb just didn't come through. I used less coconut so that didn't bring much flavor. I also used 2 cups of defrosted rhubarb from the garden. Very moist!

Pecan Clouds

I used one half the amount of pecans, chopped, and it was a lot! Very chewy and delicious, I couldn't stop eating them. I want to try this recipe with even less nuts and see how it works. Thank you!

Cream Cheese Penguins

These were a big hit at Thanksgiving. Easy to make and a fun family activity. I used a chive flavored cream cheese which was fine but I wished I had gone with a stronger tasting cheese. Next time I will use ranch flavored. Thank you!

Quinoa and Black Beans

I really liked this. I doubled the cayenne and omitted the cilantro to suit my taste. I think it could use another punch of flavor too. Thank you for this recipe, it was my introduction to quinoa and I'll be making it again.

Carrot and Raisin Salad II

The dressing tasted like fruit salad dressing to my family. I used light mayo and light sour cream. I thought the addition of fruit was really needed so I chopped an apple and added that. Good, but pineapple would have been better. I think I will use this dressing again but play with the other ingredients to find that just right balance of flavor. Thank you!

Greek Tomato Salad

I really liked the ingredient list. I followed it exactly and found the onion to be too strong for my taste. If I were to make it again I would cut the onion to at least half and either put more tomatos in or possibly a bean or small noodle. Thank you sharing this Jerry.

Luscious Slush Punch

I made this recipe using 1 cup sugar, very good! Here's the utensils that made it easy: 6 quart pot large 1 quart measuring cup 64 ounce pitcher 2 zip lock gallon bags I lined the pitcher with the zip lock bag and used the measuring cup to fill the bag with punch. I had a wet washcloth underneath to catch those drips that stain the counter. I then sealed the bag and slid it out into the freezer. Repeat with 2nd bag. No sticky spills!

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

No one in our home likes sweet potatos but the reviews got me to try it. My picky eaters really liked them and so do I. I made half the recipe and came out with 6 huge burritos and leftover filling for another 5 smaller ones. I didn't get to the store for more tortillas for 2 days to finish them up and there was no problem with leaving the extra in a sealed container in the refrigerator. I microwaved one for lunch for just a few minutes and there was no mushiness. Handy for brown bag lunches. Thank you!

Cayenne Pretzels

These are worth the wait. I didn't get very many as they disappeared fast! I tried the 2nd batch with less oil and the family disapproved. I added double the amount of cayenne and I was disappointed with the lack of fire, but otherwise the flavor is very good.

Spinach and Black Bean Pasta

I really liked this pasta combination. I thought it sounded different, which was what I was hunting for. It wasn't the prettiest dish. I used chicken broth and sprinkled extra cayenne on each serving along with the parmesan. Wow! A great blend of flavors!

Key Lime Pie VII

This didn't have enough lime "zing" for me. If you like your pie with a creamier taste and texture, this is it. This is only my 2nd key lime pie recipe I've tasted or made. The other was made with F.F. cool whip, bottled key lime juice and FF sweetened evaporated milk. That has a stronger lime taste and lighter cream taste. Thank you for sharing.

Cranberry Gelatin Salad

I thought this was just okay. My family has been enjoying cranberries and cranberry gelatin salad for years. I lost my recipe so I thought I try something a bit different. This was not a hit and I ended up throwing away over half of it. It just didn't have the tartness we like.
