About this Cook
a grad of the Dubrulle French Culinary School, Vancouver, Canada (1997), I ran a kitchen at UBC Vancouver, and catered every summer for a mountain hiking group at heights of 3,000+ metres. I am now retired.
My favorite things to cook
Rustic dishes; studying ethnics cuisines, especially East Indian, Saudi, Filipino and Chinese.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Being German on both sides, I find traditional German/Austrian dishes especially nostalgic. My favourite book for this is "Luchow's", the official cookbook of the long-gone NYC restaurant.

Mongolian Beef I
This is very tasty, however there is absolutely nothing 'mongolian' about it. Adding soy sauce and sesame seeds to a stirfry doesn't make it Asian or exotic...that said, it is a good, American meal.
