Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2014
Wonderful flavors, but the sauce was pretty runny. I used someone else's suggestion to make in foil packets. I'm not sure that made much of a difference. Next time, I might try to add a little corn starch to the sauce to get it to thicken.

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2013
Big hit with everyone at the Thanksgiving table, although the little kids didn't like the pecans. That was the adults' favorite part.

These were okay. Not better than the Big Soft Ginger Cookies

No Bake Chocolate Oat Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2013
Pretty disappointing. There wasn't much too these bars, and the oats crumbled off all over the place.

Blue Cranberry Sauce

Don't love cranberry sauce, but this was very good as far as cranberry sauce goes. We used the leftovers on our oatmeal and pancakes the morning after Thanksgiving.

Shredded Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2013
I've made this three times in the last few weeks. Incredibly delicious. I've tried using only the the bacon grease, only butter, and a combo of both like the recipe states. The consensus was that the bacon grease was a must. Butter is good, too, but not absolutely necessary. Pine nuts were the best option, but they can be pretty expensive. You can skip them all together and still be ok, but you can also swap in chopped pecans or walnuts. Just something to add crunch. I didn't know how to shred the brussel sprouts (and was too lazy to figure it out), so I just quartered them.

Broccoli Chicken Delight

Reviewed: May 17, 2012
After starting this, I realized my jar of mayo had been expired for a year. Ekk...mayo is kinda gross already. I had a little bit sour cream and some mango greek yogurt, so I decided to embrace the curry part of this recipe and added the mango greek yogurt. I also added some garlic powder, onion powder, more curry, and cayenne. It actually went well! I think the recipe as is would have been tasty as as--I just had to improvise.

Poppy Seed Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: May 17, 2012
Good dish. I loaded it with more veggies, so it ended up being very full. Like others, I thought the dill made unique. I scarfed down two servings (not that abnormal). My dad and his friend each had a couple, too (not that abnormal either). At least half of the casserole dish remained. My husband relentlessly dominated the entire rest of the casserole. Unfortunately, that's not that abnormal either, but I think it suffices to say that we all enjoyed it...some more than others.

Japanese Zucchini and Onions

Reviewed: May 17, 2012
It tasted fine, but I just didn't get it. It tasted like zucchini and onions that were cooked in the same pan as soy sauce. Neither veggie really absorbed the soy sauce. I liked this dish, because it was pretty healthy. And it wasn't bad by any means, but it didn't have anything extraordinary going on.

Easy Stromboli

This is awesome!!! I was so excited to eat my leftovers the next day. I added mushrooms, but the recipe would have still been superb without them. Yummmmmy. I can't wait to make this again.

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: May 17, 2012
Exceptionally easy. It tastes like you would expect. It's not anything amazing, but it's definitely worth making if you're looking for an easy go-to slow cooker chicken recipe. I will probably make it again just because it was so simple. I think some other reviewers talked about this, but a good salsa makes a difference in the end result.
