Her sister 'orange' lives at my house and was passed down from my dear mother.

That looks exactly like the one I used to melt pine resin. It worked great! My wife refused to use it after that.

Ahhh...her Great Aunt Beige with the floral motif moved out of here and moved in with my daughter. She's still a grand champion work horse. I actually miss her. She was far more efficient and a much better cook than that snappy, oval silver & black whippersnapper that moved in.

I had that same one! Passed it on to my baby sister when she "grew up" so I could get a newer model.

Ugly Betty brings back memories of my Mom making meals in the avocado green crockpot. We used to joke about how many meals can you make out of crockpot? Now, I think my mom wore her crockpot out. However, I do have a crockpot that is Big Brown Bertha.

I gotta tell you she is so basic that I had to watch for the condensation on the lid to know that she is working! Only three settings Off, Low and High!

Her twin sister lives at my house! Got it from my mom when I got married 35 years ago. Still works like a champ.

About Me
Military brat and retired Military wife. I seem to have a knack at growing orchids (only a couple have gone on to greener pastures). I also travel up and down the east coast while hubby does his revolutionary war re-enactments (sometimes I get dressed up too)! We like to open our house to shelter dogs. Right now we are down to two; large(German Sheperd) and a medium (cocker spaniel). We lost our small one (long hair doxy) RIP little one.
My favorite things to cook
Big stuff so I don't have to cook every night! Hubby loves my spaghetti sauce and Chili. Meatloaf is up there too. I love trying out new versions of horsy dervs (aka appetizers)
My cooking triumphs
I actually made tzatziki that tasted like the ones in authentic greek restaurants. I wont tell you how many times I tried. Let's just say I tried alot.
My cooking tragedies
I caused hubby's cholesterol to rise by trying to impress him with a different horsy derv (dips and stuff) each night. This was after we got married and I didn't know too many dinner recipes! He is getting better (as quoted in Monty Python and the Holy Grail)
