About this Cook
I was looking for a new hobby to fill my time. A recent disability had changed my options, so I picked up cooking for the first time in decades. I don't think I even turned on my oven in the house.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook for my pets, they are rarely critical and love to volunteer! I also am having a ball modifying recipes for deserts and similar goodies.

Cream Cheese Frosting II
I was worried with all the adjustments to the recipe posted, but I made it as is. I think it depends on the item you frost. I made strawberry cake mix and a chocolate fudge cake mix; so both were very, very sweet. The slightly tart cheesecake taste really offset the cupcakes and mini-round cakes puuuuurrrfectly. I dyed the frostings various shades of pink, lavender, etc... for V-Day and am delivering the yummy treats to the local police and fire departments as a thank you. Thank you poster, this was an excellent addition to my frosting catalogue!

Chicken Livers with Bacon
This was fabulous. I excluded the bacon as I was looking for something more on the healthy side (and didn't think turkey bacon would cut it). Instead, cooked sliced garlic and pearl onions in olive oil until they released the taste and used that to cook the livers. This was another fantastic option for chicken livers. It really, really made a huge difference to use fresh, organic livers instead of frozen. Adding a few to morning eggs can be a luscious option! Thanks for the great recipe.

Savory Chicken Livers with Sweet Peppers and Onions
I had to switch it up as I was thin on ingredients. I used 1/3 yellow, 1/3 orange and 1/3 red sweet peppers and I didn't have sumac. I used small pearl onions and added a splash more seasoning. This really rocked. All the other recipes include bacon and I was looking for something flavorful, yet less fatty. What a great dish for high protein, low calorie and fantastic taste! I burned the peppers a bit to give them that blackened look & taste. Thank you SO much for posting this!
