Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2011
Great lemon bar! I lowered the temp to 350 and baked the crust for 10 minutes. I did add some lemon zest to the crust. Added in an extra quarter cup of real lemon juice plus a nice heaping tablespoon of lemon zest to the lemon mixture. Baked the whole thing for 20 minutes. Came out great!

Split Pea Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
I did this in my crock pot. I left out the celery and carrots. Added thyme and more marjoram. After six hours of cooking I pureed more then half of the soup in my blender. Put back in crock pot then added some chopped up ham and cooked for three more hours. Turned out really good.

Slow Cooker London Broil

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
Wow! I used a London Broil and had no problem after ten hours in the slow cooker of it being tough or dry. I never have cream of's in my cupboard. So I made "Cream Soup Base" from this site then mixed it with a can of tomato soup and the onion soup mix. Poured all over the meat, turned the crock pot on, left for work and ten hours later had an amazing dinner! Served with mashed potatos. The gravy this makes is excellent.

Halloween Bloody Baked Rats

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
These rats were super fun to make and made the BF say "Eww those are ugly", so I guess it worked! I made my own meatloaf recipe but did wrap around a piece of monterey jack. I also made my own sauce and served with fettucine. Great fun dinner.

Garlic Roasted Chicken and Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2011
I changed this but I must review. I have never roasted/baked whole cloves of garlic like this. Wowza!! Truly delicious! I used chicken thighs, used EVOO in place of butter, skipped the syrup and threw in some dried herbs. BF wasn't happy with the way I smelled a few hours later but I didn't care...it was super yummy! For true garlic lovers.

Jan's Peanut Butter Stuffed Pretzel Bites.

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
These little things are addicting! The BF just loves them. A bit time consuming but they are well worth it. I was running out of chocolate so towards the end I just dipped one side. I thought about giving these away for Christmas. Might add a drizzle of white chocolate on top. Great recipe!

Cheeseburger Buns

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2011
Great recipe. I used butter instead of the shortening and did have to add more flour than called for. Dough was super easy to work with and tasted great. I changed up the meat. I used ground turkey and seasoned with worchestire, a little wing sauce, s/p, onion pdr, italian seasoning and chili pdr. They turned out fabulous. Excited to try different fillings.
