Mushroom Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2010
The flavor of this is something I really enjoyed, however it didn't stay together. I'll have to play with it some more since it's a rather decent base product.

Corn Chowder with Sausage

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
This was VERY tasty! It is not a super thick chowder (which I typically prefer) but I really enjoyed the consistency anyway. I added chicken bullion and carrots in with the potatoes and use 2 cans of creamed corn and 1 small can of kernel corn (I think the kernel corn gives an extra texture). I followed the suggestion of adding some flour to my sausage and onions and I really don't feel like it was necessary. This is a very good recipe and doesn't need a bunch of changes. I really love finding a recipe that is nice and EASY!

Apple Spice Dump Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2008
WONDERFUL!! I suggest taking the butter and softening it before adding to cake mix. I did not add the allspice but I added a dash of cinnamon and some fresh nutmeg. I would not do this with any cake other than the spice. It was great, my family and neighbors loved it and I'm making it again on Monday for my mother who is visiting.

Divine Hard-Boiled Eggs

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
Sorry but I cooked these EXACTLY as stated and they still had the green on the outside of the yolks and were very hard to peel.

Cake Mix Cookies IV

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
Wow, who knew that 3 ingredients could be such a success?!? I made these with a Lemon Cake Mix and turned them into Whoopie Pies with a homemade Cream Cheese Frosting (from Wilton). My friends were disappointed I didn't make these again instead of a cake recently! YUMMMMMMY!

Berdean's Cube Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
This does make a cube steak extremely tender. It just didn't have enough flavor for my taste. I browned as stated on the recipe, then I put steaks and dripping into the crockpot, covered with water and added bouillon granules. I cooked for 2 hrs (on high) then added 1 thinly sliced onion (it kind-of dissolved). Cooked for 1 1/2 more hours and then added a mixture of 1 cup milk to 2 T cornstarch to make a gravy. It was very thin. It would have been better if I had left it all in the skillet as the recipe says.

Dishpan Cookies I

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2012
I decided to make these and I did not pay attention to the fact it makes a small truckload of cookies! Guess my neighbors will be getting some. :-) I did not use the pecans (allergies) or the coconut, I did add some raisins and slightly crushed the cornflakes (measured them out, put them in a bowl and used the measuring cup to crush them up some - didn't want crumbs though) and the cookies turned out fantastic!! They are a very sweet cookie and you would never know there is no butter in these. These would be great with chocolate chips too. I also made them in two different sizes, 2" and a smaller 1 1/2". I used a scoop but this is just as easy to use your hands with as well. They also don't spread out too much. Next time, I'll just pay attention to how many it makes!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2010
This the BEST Banana Bread I've ever had! Soft, fluffy, full of Banana flavor and not too sweet. The only change I made was I omitted all of the cinnamon & didn't add nuts. I also forgot to sprinkle sugar on the greased pans. But it is absolutely amazing! Thank you Esther for sharing this with us!!! UPDATE: I have made this Banana Bread TONS of times. This makes A LOT of bread. I usually make it in small disposable loaf pans but I have also made it in regular loaf pans. I spray my pans but do not sprinkle sugar on the inside. I also recently made it with bananas that were not super brown and ripe and it still came out just as wonderful. This also freezes very very well which we have done numerous times. WARNING if you do not add 6 bananas (I never mash mine, just add into my mix in chunks and my kitchen aid breaks them down no problem) you will not get as much banana flavor!

Zucchini Cornbread Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2010
Wow this was so incredibly good!! I just made this tonight and I followed the instructions almost exactly, I may have used a bit more cheese (I don't measure much) and it was freshly grated (don't know if that matters). I also put it in a 9x9 baking dish well oiled as I would if I was making regular cornbread. Maybe next time I'll add some corn too. YUM!! Oh and I used Jiffy Cornbread mix and a very small grate on the zucchini.
