Real Hummus

I used no black pepper, more garlic (love garlic!) and less salt. Best recipe I've found. Great as a base to make your own flavors.

Cherry Bars

I prefer my recipe which is nearly the same. Only difference is I use 1 tsp almond extract, only one can of pie filling and NO icing. Icing makes them sickeningly sweet and I love the extra almond flavor. Using only one can of filling makes them easier to eat, IMO.

Bird's Nests III

We make these a little different. We add 1/4 C peanut butter and use marshmallow cream. The marshmallow cream makes them less sticky and easier to work with. Use a microwave safe bowl and then there is only one dirty bowl/pan to clean. I love these!!

Use combo of mayo and sour cream. And add a little milk if needed.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Awesome. My first time at making cinnamon rolls. Used my stand mixer to knead them until ready. I had no filling 'escape' and only cooked them for about 13 minutes. I doubled the frosting. I will keep this recipe for every. This was really easy to do!

Pecan Cream Cheese Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
The taste of this dessert is wonderful. And very easy. However, there isn't enough filling to fill the pie crust. Next time I make it I think I will do it in bar form or something other than pie.

Any Flavor Taffy

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
I think there are two keys to this recipe. Temperature and stretching. Candy takes patience. I let it reach 255 degrees before removing from heat. I didn't want it too soft or to hard. I used two large buttered metal cookie sheets. Split the mixture between the two. I waited only until the candy was cool enough to touch (maybe 5 minutes) then i started stretching. I made cherry and the candy went from a dark red to a light pink by the time I was done stretching. I don't think it would have turned out nearly as good had I not stretched it so much. Also, make sure you have two people to stretch. By the time I got to the second pan it was already setting up. It still worked but was much harder on my arms! I may add two kool aid packets next time. My husband loves it. Also, I did NOT butter my hands before stretching. There was no need. It only stuck to itself. There was enough butter from the pan, I guess. I didn't want the candy to be butter flavored or coated in butter.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Ok. Husband liked. I didn't. Not sure about the breading. Something was off about the sauce too. Not my favorite but I gave four stars because DH liked it so much.

Best Tuna Casserole

This was great. I added some garlic, celery salt and milk (to make it creamier). I also added more mushrooms because we love them. I topped it with LOTS of cheddar cheese and nothing else. Superb!

Mexican Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
Awesome with changes. I use either a premade crust or homemade and precook for a few minutes with a little cheese. I mix the entire can of beans with salsa - enough to make it easy to spread (we use HOT salsa so the pizza is hot). I spread the beans on the all ready hot crust and top the beans with LOTS of sharp cheddar cheese. I cook it in the oven until the cheese is melted and browned. That's it! I top slices with lettuce, onion, salsa, sour cream, black olives, etc. It's the best taco pizza ever.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
These were awesome!!! I love CCB and these were great. The sauce was wonderful; I added fresh mushrooms halfway through cooking the chicken. I fixed brown rice and used the sauce w/ mushrooms for it. Also - I did pound the chx breasts down to about 1/4-1/2 inch. I rolled them instead of simply folding in half. Also I didn't use wine because I was out - so I used chx broth. I'm making this again tonight and using white wine - I think the sauce will be even better! (If that's even possible) Make this recipe - you won't regret it.

Spicy Turkey Burgers

These were great. Husband said they should replace ALL burgers. I did reduce the cumin a little and only used half the soy sauce. I also estimated all ingredients. Next time I may omit the soy sauce.

Five Minute Ice Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2008
I wouldn't call it ice cream... It was really good though. I wasn't sure my blender would live through it. Will make again. Update - I have since (a month or so since my initial post) purchased a food processor and I must say it has enhanced this recipe tremendously!! I do add a lot more cream to make it more like ice cream. I make a lot at a time and keep it in the freezer.
