About this Cook
I am 24 years old, married and love to cook new recipes.
My favorite things to cook
I like the excitement of cooking something I have never made before and being anxious to see how it turns out. I love to make desserts, and dinner dishes.
My cooking tragedies
I have had a few cooking tragedies as I am not a very experienced cook but I do learn from my mistakes. My worst tragedy was on Thanksgiving. It was just my husband and I and he had to go to work that night. It was my first turkey that I ever made and tried to find a recipe online. I ended up trying to cook the whole turkey in the slow cooker on low. (I had a large oval crockpot.) I figured that way the oven would be available for me to cook whatever else I was making. Of course late afternoon the turkey wasn't done and was floating in lots of liquid. I looked at the recipe again and noticed it was for slow cooking a turkey breast not a whole turkey. So I had to throw the turkey away and we had something else to eat for dinner that day. I was mortified, mad and upset that I did such a thing and from then on my turkeys are cooked in the oven!

Apple Oatmeal Crisp
This was my first time trying this recipe. I followed the recipe exactly except I made enough for a 9x13 pan. It turned out too dry and crumbly. The oatmeal mixture turned out fine but there was no liquid with the apples so they were dry. I will try adding some apple juice to hopefully save it. I'm definitely not making this again. I made the Apple Crisp II that is on this website before and it tasted great. But I thought I would try a different recipe this time to compare and wished I would have made that one instead.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies
These were very good. I made as written but instead of margarine I used butter. However my cookies didn't turn out cracked on top, and they were not a soft cookie like I was expecting. They turned out kind of crunchy and chewy. They were also quite thin but were still tasty. I put icing on top as well. If I end up making these again, I think I will try using brown sugar like a different reviewer suggested.

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas
This is a great recipe, but the first time I made it I noticed they were really soggy which my husband and I didn't care for. So now we just bake them and warm up the sauce in the saucepan. Then we put the sauce on top just before serving. This way they will not get soggy.
