Bar-B-Que Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2015
This recipe was great. It is my go to base recipe for homemade BBQ sauce. Every once in a while I will add or change an ingredient just to try a new flavor, but this sauce is great just the way it is too. Thanks for submitting it!

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2015
This was soooo good! I have allergies, so I had to alter the recipe a bit. I omitted the soup mix and used herbs instead and omitted the canned green beans and used fresh organic ones instead. I had to omit the canned beef broth and used organic vegetable stock instead. I also did not have any carrots on hand, but did have some eggplant that needed to be used soon, so I added that instead. What a wonderful soup, diet or not. I will eat this soup regularly. Thanks so much for sharing it! By the way, my picky "I hate vegetables" 7 year old loved it too! Thanks.

So good! I will be making this for many years to come. I would have never thought to add Brussels Sprouts to a Kielbasa dish, so I am glad I found your recipe. Thanks for sharing!

Mushroom Pork Chops

This was excellent. My husband raved! We will make it again and again. So easy and quick. The only addition I made was adding a splash of vermouth to the gravy while cooking. Superb! Thanks for submitting this.

We loved this recipe. The only this we changed was not adding the green chilies and we loved it. Thanks for submitting this delicious recipe.

Cheddar Cabbage Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
This is a very tasty recipe. The only thing we did differently was to add some sliced kielbasa to make it a main dish. My husband loved it and asked me to make it again. Thank you for submitting such a tasty recipe.

Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
Very good basic recipe. Easy to make changes without compromising the dish. I opted for cream of mushroom and a can of cheese soup and added an extra can of tuna along with 1/2 cup of sour cream for extra moisture and flavor. My hubby loved the fried onion topping and so did I. Thanks for submitting this recipe.

Mushroom Chicken Dijon

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2010
I gave this only 3 stars because the measurements are way off and don't translate well when you increase the amount of servings. I increased the amount to 4 servings and it asked for 1/2 pound of green onions which is a lot of onions and a full 6 cups of heavy whipping cream which is way too much whipping cream. In fact all I used was a pint and I thought that was a little too much. This is a delicious recipe, but not written for a beginner which is a shame because it is actually very easy to make, but only if you already know by looking at the recipe that the measurements are all wrong. Because of this I gave it a poor rating.

Simple Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2010
This is a good quick budget conscience recipe, but like others I altered it so therefore I only gave it 3 stars. I added chopped garlic instead of powder, 1 pkg. fresh mushroom sliced, 1 can of beef stock, approx. 1 Tbs. of Parsley, and three caps-full of extra dry Vermouth (which, as another poster similarly stated, makes all the difference) to the existing recipe. Thanks for posting this.

Lemon Mushroom Herb Chicken

Reviewed: May 16, 2009
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for posting this recipe! I loved the flavors together. I cooked mine differently from all others in that I did not saute the chicken, but instead baked the chicken at 350 for 45 min. with all the ingredients mixed together in a baking dish minus the flour, capers, and butter. I accidentally used cayenne pepper instead of paprika which made this dish very spicy, with a Thai-like flavor, which was very tasty. I also used 1/3 c. vermouth and lemon/pepper combo and cream of chicken soup instead of broth because they were what I had on hand. Stirred in lemon extract with the cooked rice before adding the rice to the chicken and sauce. I may try it with coconut milk next time to add a little more to the Thai-like flavor. Very delicious! Will definitely make over and over again, Thanks!

Split Pea and Ham Soup I

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2008
This is the way split pea soup is supposed to be...minus the oil because it doesn't need it. My husband and I absolutely love this recipe. It is the same recipe that has been handed down generation after generation in our famliy. We presoak our peas because I think it helps eliminate gas from the peas and it helps them disintegrate faster. This is such a great recipe on its own that it leaves me wondering why people add so much to it. If you add all those other vegetables then wouldn't it just be a creamy version of vegetable soup? And chicken broth to a ham soup? That just causes the true ham flavor to become muddled thus causing people to think it needs something more. Remember more is not always better, sometimes it is just more. This recipe is perfect as is!
