Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2014
Followed recipe for the most part, but added nutmeg and maybe 1T 1/2 and 1/2 thinking it would be more creamy, but still disappointed in the creaminess of it. May try it again, changing some things up and give it one more shot!

Panna Cotta

I thought it was a bit too gelatin"ee" for me. I also cut back on the sugar to 1/4c and it was perfectly sweet.

Very good flavor and easy to do with a cast iron skillet that goes from range top to oven! I double dipped the chops(in egg, crumbs, egg and crumbs)

Whole Wheat Beer Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2014
Easy recipe! We used our home-brewed nut brown ale in ours. Threw it all in our breadmaker on cake cycle and it came out great. Hubs says its a bit bitter, but thats the beer. It would turn out differently with the type of beer you use.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2014
Very good flavor. I did not brown the beef as some reviewers had said and it still came out great. I love the Worcestershire flavor in it. I did eliminate the potatoes though, cutting back on starches.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2013
It had the basic ingredients, but knowing it would be too thin for my taste, I decided to add flour to the garlic/butter mixture. Then add the cream. I then needed to add more milk. I also added pepper and a dash of nutmeg.

Slow Cooker Chicken Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2013
I thought the spice packet was a bit too much, but I love the creaminess of the dish. I think I will try using my own spices next time, so it doesn't overwhelm the flavors so much.

Gnocchi I

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2013
Easy and tastes great with the Hungarian Sliced Steak recipe I made it with. I baked the potatoes(3 medium reds). Added about 1-1/4 C flour and it kneaded nicely. Rolled in long snakes easily too. Did put in fridge on pan covered with wax paper until ready to cook. Once boiled, I heated up some butter to brown, added parsley and stirred in the gnocchi. Yum!

Creamy Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2012
Very good. This is my first attempt ever to make a mac n cheese. I did not add the dijon mustard as I don't care for it and I thought having the parm cheese might be a bit much. I used it here: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/macaroni-and-cheese-with-bacon-and-onions/detail.aspx So those extra flavorings would not be missed.

Very, very good! My personal preference is to use all beef broth and I did not have fresh thyme, so I just added dried.

Thick Chocolate Pudding

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2012
Yum! I did however cut the cornstarch to 2-1/2 T, as it is plenty thick. Also the sugar I increased to 1/2 cup. Very easy. But watch in the microwave for boil overs. Mine almost went over, even with 1 minute intervals. Guess I have a hot micro.

Hearty Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2012
Very good! Although I did not have heavy cream. It still was very light and fluffy using 1/2 1% milk and 1/2 half and half. Cooked in convection at 325 for 40 min.

Amazing Pecan Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2012
Very good! I baked in a springform using the tube insert. Rose all the way up to the top! I did double the topping though, because I added some in between layers of batter as well as on the top. Since I did that, I lowered the white sugar to 1 cup. Could maybe try doing 1-1/2 times the topping mix. You must gently fold in the flour as directed. I included a pic as well.

Excellent recipe!!! Who needs Portillo's!! I did use the recommendation however to add 2 packs of the dressing mix as well as using Chuck. It shredded so nicely.
