Hamburger Soup II

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2001
This is a great comfort food recipe. I did use one can of tomatoe soup , and one can of chicken stock before adding the water. This made it very flavourful. I also added garlic and some other seasoning to add some zip. Great served with grilled cheese on a cold Canadian night!!

Best Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2004
This was amazing. I did not use the garlic salt or celery salt but stuck with the unsalted seasonings as mentioned by other reviewers. I also had no lemon juice but it turned out great without it. The chicken was so moist and crispy and both my kids gobbled it up. Served it with boullion rice and corn on the cob.

Nick's Favorite Cherry Pecan Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2004
This is a great bread recipe. I did have to make one small alteration as i did not have buttermilk on hand. I soured milk by using vinegar and it worked just as good as the buttermilk. I think next time i would add even more cherries as my family loves them. I did nopt chop the cherries into small pieces but just halved them instead. Made for nice chunks of fruit, and looked very pretty. Oh yeah, i had to cook this for almost 70 minutes and it was a large sized loaf. Still came out very moist. Great recipe!!

Banana Chip Muffins I

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2004
Easyyyyyy and moist. I like baking with as few dishes to clean up as possible. One measuring cup, one big bowl and one little bowl a spatula and a muffin tin-can't beat that. The outcome was delish!

This was sooooo good. I did make it with brocolli instead of spinach and used cubed chicken in the mixture as well. This is so rich and flavourful, my whole family loved it.

I thought this was a great recipe. Its a kid friendly meal that you can serve as an appetizer or as a main course. I made it with white butter rice and peas. I like the tang and my kids love the sweet. Will make again for sure.

Canadian Barn BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2004
I made a few changes to this based on some of the past reviews. I made this using only about 4 tbsps of brown sugar. I used vinegar instead of lemon juice. I served this with italian sausage and brocolli stir fry with a side of white rice. My family loved this. I will be making this again.

Barbecued Meatballs

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2004
These meatballs turned out fantastic. They were firm and in using extra lean ground beef, i found that they were not greay at all. Will definately make this again.

Polish Cabbage Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2004
I wasn't sure if this recipe would be flavourful enough based on the few ingredients- but boy was i wrong. This is delicious and went very well with the polish sausage and garden salad i served. Will make again. Sooooo simple.

Cheese and Broccoli Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2004
This soup is delicious!! So hearty and filling for these cold winter nights. I used a bit less cheese and only had vegetable stock on hand but it still came out wonderful. Of course i added lots of garlic which i can't seem to do without. I will make this time and time again.

Aunt Millie's Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2003
I made this with half broccoli and half baby carrots. I also added some garlic to the sauce before combining it all together. Served it with crushed ritz crackers rather than the suggested croutons. It turned out great.

Bacon Spaghetti

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2004
We soooo enjoyed this dish. I added alot of garlic as well as lots of pepper and fresh oregano. I added a little touch more olive oil just to make sure it wasnt to dry. I also sauted vidalia onion with the bacon which added so much flavour. I served it with brocolli and cheese sauce and salad. Talk about fattening, but worth ever bit.

Saucy Chops II

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2003
We loved this recipe. The sauce is similar to the salsbury steak recipe from this site. The meat turned out tender and was falling off the bones when i served it with mashed potatoes. Thanks for the great submission.

I didn't have any chocolate chips so i added a bit of cocoa to the dry ingredients and then added white chocolate chips at the end. Turned out fabulous. My daughter couldn't wait to dip them in a glass of milk and i have to admit...I joined her! Moist and delicious.

Chili Dog Casserole II

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2003
This is really good but really fattening. I would advise buying top of the line chile for this meal. The higher quality the better. I made it once with canned and once with home made and both times this was really tasty. I would make this again for fun food nights but its just too rich and high in fat for a regular meal.

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2003
So simple but tastes like you spent hours. I made this with my daughter during one of our baking days. We put it in a 9x13 and decided to add white and milk chocolate chips. When the cake cooled we used a semi sweet chocolate drizzle and cut it into squares. She was so excited, she insisted we have a tea party and serve the cake!
