Hamburger Soup II

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2001
This is a great comfort food recipe. I did use one can of tomatoe soup , and one can of chicken stock before adding the water. This made it very flavourful. I also added garlic and some other seasoning to add some zip. Great served with grilled cheese on a cold Canadian night!!

Sweet and Crunchy Salad

This is sooo fantastic. Loved the mandarin oranges and dressing mixed with the nuts. Such a great salad for summer. I brought it to a family bbq and it got rave reviews. 5 stars from all who had some.

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2003
So simple but tastes like you spent hours. I made this with my daughter during one of our baking days. We put it in a 9x13 and decided to add white and milk chocolate chips. When the cake cooled we used a semi sweet chocolate drizzle and cut it into squares. She was so excited, she insisted we have a tea party and serve the cake!

Chili Dog Casserole II

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2003
This is really good but really fattening. I would advise buying top of the line chile for this meal. The higher quality the better. I made it once with canned and once with home made and both times this was really tasty. I would make this again for fun food nights but its just too rich and high in fat for a regular meal.

Cowboy Cookies III

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2003
I didn't have any chocolate chips so i added a bit of cocoa to the dry ingredients and then added white chocolate chips at the end. Turned out fabulous. My daughter couldn't wait to dip them in a glass of milk and i have to admit...I joined her! Moist and delicious.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2003
This was amazing. The meat was moist and falling apart. I ended up shredding it and pouring some of the gravy on it prior to serving. My family loved it. The only thing i added was some pressed garlic. Other than that, this is a perfect recipe.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Squares

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2003
These are so easy and incredibly yummmmmmmmmy. They are just like peanut butter cups and cut into perfect squares, so very little is wasted. I brought this to a potluck and the plate was clean in just a few minutes. It always makes me feel good when i see people going back for seconds..and thirds.

Saucy Chops II

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2003
We loved this recipe. The sauce is similar to the salsbury steak recipe from this site. The meat turned out tender and was falling off the bones when i served it with mashed potatoes. Thanks for the great submission.

Aunt Millie's Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2003
I made this with half broccoli and half baby carrots. I also added some garlic to the sauce before combining it all together. Served it with crushed ritz crackers rather than the suggested croutons. It turned out great.

Cheese and Broccoli Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2004
This soup is delicious!! So hearty and filling for these cold winter nights. I used a bit less cheese and only had vegetable stock on hand but it still came out wonderful. Of course i added lots of garlic which i can't seem to do without. I will make this time and time again.

Polish Cabbage Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2004
I wasn't sure if this recipe would be flavourful enough based on the few ingredients- but boy was i wrong. This is delicious and went very well with the polish sausage and garden salad i served. Will make again. Sooooo simple.

Canadian Barn BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2004
I made a few changes to this based on some of the past reviews. I made this using only about 4 tbsps of brown sugar. I used vinegar instead of lemon juice. I served this with italian sausage and brocolli stir fry with a side of white rice. My family loved this. I will be making this again.

I didn't put the sauce in and just used extra diced tomatoes with lots of roasted garlic. This was delicious and the family loved it.

Baked Ziti IV

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2003
This is sooo yummy. I didnt have any ziti so i used rotini but it turned out perfectly. I really liked how when its cut, its comes away from the pan in a clean cut square (i know but i am a little picky about these things especially when serving for company). The flavours are delicious, and the only change i made was to add 3/4 tsp. of sugar to the sauce to cut the acidity. I can't wait to make this again!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2003
This is the perfect blueberry muffin recipe. The topping makes it more like a dessert muffin rather than a breakfast style muffin. It definately satisfies the sweet tooth and they turn out very moist and dense in texture. This will be the recipe i swear by until i find something better. I'm just not sure it is possible though!

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Absolutely fantastic! Although this soup is very high in fat....thankfully it is very filling and is very simple to make. Its a hearty meal when served with some crusty bread. I have also made this with left over cubed ham. Its great either way.
