Pineapple Pie I

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2006
This is a great recipe, but my goodness it certainly was not enough filling for my deep dish pie plate. I had to double the recipe, and was still below the top line of the pie plate. I used a homemade crust and my company raved about this dessert.

This is soooo addictive!! This is the second year i have made this and everyone loves it. I made it after my staff team at work begged me to make it again. The chocolate, sugar combo just melts in your mouth. WIll make this every year.

Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookie Logs

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2005
I made these for my christmas cookie tins and was very pleased with the end result. Melt in your mouth kind of cookie with good texture. I also added skor baking chips along with the mini chocolate chips. Sooo rich!! I omitted the nuts at the end and just left them with the plain chocolate dip.

Gooey Cherry Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2005
These turned out great but i do agree that once i first iced them, they were kind of "blah" looking. I had some mini gingerbread men and christmas tree sprinkles and with this addition, they looked beautiful. These squares require patience when cutting them in order to get the perfect looking square. I froze mine slightly prior to cutting it. I also did not have a food processor, but i used my pampered chef chopper and it did the cherries and nuts perfectly. Great addition to my christmas baking.

Green Beans with Blue Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2005
Amazing side dish at our Thanksgiving dinner. I did use feta and added some fried onions to the bacon drippings. I used about half of the amount of drippings and it was plenty. Crumbled bacon was also a nice addition.

Colonial Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2005
I made this for thanksgiving dinner and it was a huge hit. It does turn out more like a dense cake but is moist and the icing is fabulous. A nice change from the standard pumpkin pie.

Blazing Glory Raspberry Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2005
I used this marinade with boneless chicken thighs and although they turned out very moist, they werent overly infused with raspberry flavour. I will make it again with some other types of preserves to see if it enhances flavours.

It was just okay for us. I am very particular about a good dessert and this was flavourless and lacking.

Broccoli Coleslaw

Reviewed: May 23, 2005
Very similar to Napa cabbage salad, and i was craving it but didnt have the cabbage. This recipe was so good, and very filling. I didnt have any sunflower seeds so i used slivered almonds instead. A definate keeper and a slight variation from a family favourite.

Amish Yumazuti

Reviewed: May 4, 2005
This is nothing gourmet but is a kid pleaser. My family liked this meal alot, and i will likely make it again. I put the stewed idced tomatoes in the meat mixture afte rit was brown, so i could get a better sense of the flavouring.I still think something was missing despite 6 cloves of garlic, italian seasoning and basil. But the majority wins out on this one.

Cheesy Carrots

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2005
This was fabulous! I did need to cook the carrots for a long time then used my hand mixer to get a creamy smooth texture. I added the minced onion to the carrots before beating them in order to release the flavours. It turned out great. I also omitted the green pepperbut added lots of italian seasoning. WIll make it again.

Bou's Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2005
This chicken is sooo easy and so delicious. I did not change a thing. I like one step recipes when i am in a hurry and it helped that this is a recipe where i didnt need to brown the chicken first. My kids love it, my husband loves it and so did i. The chicken was moist and tender and very flavourful.

Pleasant Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2005
These were ok butnothing to brag about. My husband loveeees pork and will eat it any day of the week. HE is not generally fussy, but admitted that these were kind of tough and bland. Was definately missing something. I wont be making these again especially when i have so many other great chop recipes.
