My cooking triumphs
My favourite cooking experiences have been when I've make a big supper for our extended family and it turns out exactly how I want it and everyone loves it.
My cooking tragedies
I was mixing ingredients for pumpkin cheesecake in a blender. When I turned it off and tried to take the top of the blender off the base, I accidentally separated the top from the blade attachment which it was supposed to stay attached to, and pumpkin cheesecake mix oozed all down the blender, into all the buttons and into every other crevice it could find. It was a huge waste of ingredients and quite a mess to clean up. But I got a new blender out of it.

Rhubarb Crunch
Very sweet, but good. I followed some suggestions and only put 1/2 C of butter in the topping and it wasn't enough. Maybe 3/4 C would be better. I also added a little cinnamon to the topping and about 3/4 C of sugar. I only had 3 C of rhubarb so I baked this in a 8x8 inch pan. It fit perfectly, but there was a lot of topping - which is my favorite part.

Black Forest Cake I
Good recipe. The cake was dry though. I changed it up quite a bit. I used cherry pie filling instead of the sour cherries with sugar and cornstarch. I used dream whip to pipe along the top, but I decided to make a chocolate icing to go on the sides and between the layers. I also added ground almonds to the top instead of using the crumbs.

Great bars! I've made them twice and they turn out really nice, they also set very well so they're not still gooey. Will keep this recipe in my collection!
