We make this all of the time, but I hate to use a stick of butter so I now use almost a cup of chicken broth or almost a cup of water and almost a teaspoon of chicken boullion granules. My family loves it this way, and I feel better about eating it! I also usually add a little red pepper. (Just noticed, my recipe only calls for 1 cup of milk, and 3/4 c. parmesan.) Play with it, it's a great start!!
