Apple Squares

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2012
Fantastic!! I doubled this recipe. Our family doesn't like such sweet things so I doubled everything but the sugar. Even with half the amount of sugar it was just wonderful. I did add a bit of apple juice like another reviewer suggested. (1/4 cup). I also made caramel sauce and drizzled that over so all of these things add to the sweetness of the cake. That is why I only used one cup of sugar instead of 2 when doubling this recipe. Either way you like it, the cake is super moist and just delicious!! You must try it!

Black-Eyed Pea Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
Absolutely delish!! This is a quick and easy meal that tastes fantastic! My husband and the kids loved it. We served it with salad and corn chips. The only change I made was adding pinto beans and navy beans instead of the black-eyed peas. It is all I had on hand. Black-eyed peas are beans anyway so I can't imagine the taste would be that much different if I had used the black-eyed peas. This recipe is absolutely worth making. It is so easy and uses ingredients that many people would have on hand. YUM!

Chocolate Apple Bread

This is a five star recipe. It turned out great. I used a Granny Smith apple and pecans instead of walnuts. The rest was done to a "t". Fantastic!

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
This is a great recipe. I used the 1/3 cup of corn starch instead of flour and only 1/2 cup of sugar. I didn't bake the pie either. I am so glad I read the other reviews. It's what makes this site great. I think the reason that people have runny pudding is because they don't cook it long enough. The pudding gets very thick once it is good and hot. That is when you pour a bit of that mixture into the egg yolks, stir well and then pour the egg mixture back into the pudding. Absolutely fantastic recipe!!

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
This is a definite 5 star recipe! It tasted as good as it looked. I used the advice of a previous review and baked the cheesecake with foil around the bottom. I put it on a cookie sheet and filled the sheet with water. It baked for an hour and then I turned the oven off and let it sit for another hour before putting in the fridge for the night. It did not sink or get too brown and there were no cracks. The top was perfectly swirled and beautiful. I have made many cheesecakes over the years and this one is by far at the top of the list!!

This really is a great recipe! I used less sugar but that is just a personal preference. You can't go wrong with this one!
