Blueberry Snow

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2009
I found it was even better to mix the pieces of angel food cake into the rest of the mix. And in a pinch, a jar of any flavor of jam worked great in place of the blueberry filling and sugar!

Nacho Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
the consistency is great for easy nachos. a little bland without an extra spice, so I recomend the jalepenos, green chilis or 1/4 cup of el tapatio or tabasco sauce to give it a slight kick. very popular with the kids...even our toddler!

Spinach Bread

a great way to get my anti-veggie toddler to each veggies. I give it to her toasted or ina grilled cheese sandwich and I am thankful for how easy this is. couldnt taste the cheese, so next time I will add a little more like others suggested.

Tuna Salad With Fresh Dill

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
I left out the celery and yogurt, used chives instead of green onion and added a little fresh basil, too. Yum-O, an excellant lunch sandwich! Maybe I make my sandwiches a little too big, though, because I only got about 1 1/2 servings out of it.

Cheddar Dill Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
very tasty. the dill is not too strong and overpowering, but I did add extra cheese to the mix and then sprinkled the tops with some. MUST use sharp cheddar, not mild or medium!

PHILLY Creamy Basil and Red Pepper Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
a great starter recipe, I love this! I made just a few changes...added fresh, minced garlic, parsley and red onion as well as chopped fresh tomatoes to the blender mix. I also used whole milk and regular cream cheese to make the sauce more decadent. And finally, I poured the sause and chix over linguine...very tasty! 125 grams is half a package of 8 oz cream cheese.

German Spaetzle Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
Great recipe...the ziplock bag with 4-5 holes worked the best and easiest with the least amount of clean-up. I doubled the recipe for a German-themed potluck, but thought the nutmeg was a little too strong. I will half or 3/4 it next time.

Beef/Mushroom Pockets

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
LOVED this! I like to use less prepared foods to avoid all the unnecessary preservative and additives, so I used homemade pizza dough and fresh mushrooms, garlic and milk with cornstarch instead of cream of mushroom soup. I liked the idea of peas in it too, but only had frozen peas and carrot and it turned out great with nice color and flavor! Might try frozen spinach next time. Also did dough in triangles instead of circles to make them more like turnovers. Also, they freeze great! Will make this again and again - even my picky toddlers enjoyed them!

Hamburger Buns

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2010
good recipe, but need a very wide cutter (dessert bowl or wide mouthed jar) to get them wide enough for hamburgers. I had trouble with them coming out more like dinner roll size until the 2nd or 3rd time making them.

Toffee Bars by EAGLE BRAND®

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
this is the exact recipe that I have been trying to get from a friend but always forget to ask. A couple things to remember, though...the milk does NOT take 15 minutes, more like 5 and to keep the chocolate flavor from overwhelming it, I like to just sprinkle the chips, keeping their shape and not spread them. Thank you Eagle!

Peanut Butter Chicken Skewers

Reviewed: May 6, 2010
loved this recipe! was looking for a recipe that a long-lost friend used with thighs and wings and thought I would try this. Worked amazing! I doubled the recipe and simered the sauce as directled and then poured it over two cut up, whole chicken and let simmer for hours in a crock pot until the chicken fell off the bone and then served with rice. AWESOME!

Chocolate Truffle Cookies

Reviewed: May 21, 2010
the best chocolate fudge cookies. batter tastes just like brownie batter, so I bet would taste great as brownies as well. when I first made these, I did not have bakers chocolate on hand, so on the heels of another's review that it worked okay with additional chocolate chips, I tried that. They came out really good, but when I made them the next time, I really saw the difference in using the bakers chocolate and TOTALLY worth the trip to the grocery store for it. They set much better and taste more triple chocolatey and less bitter-sweet, if that makes any sense. Also, roll them in powdered sugar for a beautiful look! I cannot wait to try the other suggestions of peanut butter, white chocolate or butterscotch chips!

Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
VERY good, but I have found it is even better when you make the sticky bun dough froms scratch (like you are making cinnamon rolls). Takes a little more work and time because it uses yeast, but if you do it in your bread machine, it is well worth the extra hour!
