Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2013
I used canned Italian diced tomatoes so I wouldn't have to chop and instead of links I used the regular mild Italian sausage so I wouldn't have to mess with casings. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly adding a little grated parmigiano reggiano at the table. We have had this a few times and each time my SO has stated that it is his favorite dish of all time! It's quick and easy too. A definite go-to recipe for weeknight suppers.

Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
I made this for Thanksgiving; super easy and quick to make and everyone commented on how good it was. I thought it tasted a little too much of orange and did not thicken up as much as I would have liked. Next time I will try cooking a bit longer. It went well with ham and I would make it again.

Slow Cooker Cheesy Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
I made this for Thanksgiving but had revamped the recipe using the tips from other reviewers. Having it in the crockpot freed up the oven for other dishes and made it super easy. Instead of cheese soup, I used 2 cups of shredded cheddar and I used more French onions than the recipe called for (I don't know exactly... the bigger container). I added 8 oz of sour cream and a can of cream of chicken soup. I also added a can of mushroom bits and a can of golden cream of mushroom soup. I also added half a stick of butter and some southwest seasoning. It turned out too spicy and too mushy. What I would do differently next time is use regular hashed brown potatoes, skip the mushrooms and cream of mushroom soup, and use half a cup of sour cream. Then I would season with salt and pepper to taste rather than the southwest seasoning. Maybe also use 3 cups of cheddar too. Went really well with ham.

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
I made this for Thanksgiving and it turned out beautifully. Followed directions exactly. My Dad has made it in the past but without the sour cream and said that he could not taste a real difference, so I may leave it out next time to save on calories and fat. Everyone loves it, especially the kids. Went well with ham.

Harvest Rice Dish

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
Made this for Thanksgiving and it was a hit! The cranberries gave it a really nice flavor. I chopped the onions rather than use onion wedges. I had forgotten the almond slivers and decided to go without... my mom then commented after dinner, "You know what else would have been good in the wild rice dish is almond slivers." Lol. When I boiled the rice, I could not get all the liquid to absorb, but I have always been bad at making rice, so I am not blaming the recipe. I made this the day before and then popped in the oven to heat up. It went well with ham. I will be making this again.

Savory Grilled Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
The mayo in it sounded strange to me... but these are delicious! A recipe keeper for sure! My family loved them and have asked for them again. I'll be making them again today for 4th of July grill party with pork chops.

Very easy and a nice way to make potatoes for holiday meals. They were almost a little too rich however.

I didn't use the olives... turned out spicier than I would've thought! Used it on Shrimp Po'Boys.
