Spicy Watermelon Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2014
Made for Recipe Group. Hubby and I both liked this, we ate almost the whole bowl at dinner one night. You know when something is 'moreish' it's pretty darned good! I used a chili garlic sauce and rice vinegar. Lemon basil is a nice touch, little lighter than regular basil with that lemony undertone. Eating tomato and melon together was a little weird for me, but it works well together. It was definitely spicier the next day for the chili sauce. Thanks for the recipe!

Easy Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2014
Sauce was delicious. It was very watery for me, maybe because I used bone-in chops. Next time I will leave out the water. The chops just fell apart and couldn't stop eating them. Thanks for the recipe!

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2014
Love this for summertime treat! I used fresh strawberries and so let the jello sit too long before I mixed with the berries. Still tasted great though, thanks for the recipe!

Lawn Mower Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2014
Awesome! Tastes like my MIL's Oriental salad which we love, but with broccoli instead of cabbage. I toasted and sliced up some almonds instead of the cashews since I had those here. Thanks Molly!

Rock Creek Lake Fresh Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: May 13, 2014
Made for Recipe Group. I couldn't find strawberry juice so I added 1/2 cup of mashed berries and 3/4 cup of water. The cooked mixture thickened up nicely on the stove until the lemon juice was added. It did thicken up a bit more in the frig, but was a liquid mess to try to serve. The cream cheese layer kept the crust from getting soggy, at least until the next day. The taste was great though. I would not make this again without a few tweaks, but then it would be a different recipe. Thanks for the recipe.

Microwave Lemon Curd

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2014
Love the ease of this for making lemon curd. I did end up thickening it with some cornstarch slurry on the stove as I was looking for a firmer texture. It was pretty sour and could have used a little more sugar. I'll make this again now that I know how! Thanks!

California Club Chicken Wraps

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2014
Made this for Recipe Group. We liked it, of course I always end up making it bigger than it should be! I thought the dressing needed some more seasoning, maybe a little salt and sugar. I am not used to plain yogurt. Combined with the rest of the ingredients it was ok though. Bacon gives this a nice added bonus. Fat and sodium content on this is out of sight however. I probably won't make it again because of that, hubby is on a diet! Thanks for the recipe.

Lemon Curd Tarts

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2014
Made for Recipe Group. So simple and easy, why didn't I think of that?! I used the microwave lemon curd recipe to make the curd(and had to thicken mine too), already had the phyllo shells, it was a match made in heaven! They tasted like tiny lemon meringue pies, love it! Thanks Paula!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2014
Love this! I haven't made pancakes in years and after using a buckwheat mix to make some for hubby I decided to branch out and try this one. Marvelous! And I don't have to have buttermilk, it makes it's own. Thanks Kris!

Chicken Club Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2014
Made for Recipe Group. Lovely main dish salad. The combo of mayo and Italian dressing made it taste like Ranch. Hubby got introduced to an avocado which he says he has never eaten before. Used some chunks of Monteray Jack cheese and tri-color rotini. Pretty and delicious! Thanks for the recipe!

Chocolate Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2014
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this recipe, and had to make it. It is not overpowering chocolate at all. However, it does have a slight burnt taste to it that was not agreeable. Maybe if it was cooked at a lower temperature would eliminate that. The bottom 'crust' has a tendency to fall off like most breadings seem to. Thanks for the challenge.

Braised Corned Beef Brisket

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2014
Awesome! I used a little brown sugar, worcestershire, and apple cider vinegar as browning sauce. Garlic powder on the roast before browning, topped with onions, on a sheet pan with foil covering. Only cooked about 4 hours, turned out scrumptious! Thanks Mauigirl!

Irish Apple Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2014
Made for Recipe Group. I thought this was good, nice lemony flavor in the background. I made it in an 8x8 pan. I sprinkled cinnamon sugar over natural applesauce and on the top. I just mixed the batter with my hands, pressed down the bottom layer and crumbled over the applesauce. Makes a nice coffecake! Thanks for the recipe.

A winner as always! I use 4 tubes of the cheap 4 pack biscuits and layer a little of the cinnamon sugar mixture on each layer as it gets put in.

Reuben Crescent Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2014
Made for Recipe Group. I used a crescent roll sheet, rolled it out and cut in half. Perfect fit for an 8x8 pan. Prebaked, added the layers in. Made some homemade 1000 Island and found I didn't have any kraut, so added a little dressing in place of it. Laid the second half of the sheet over the top. I'm not sure what the sealing to the pan part was for? I didn't extend the bottom crust up the sides of the pan either. Taste of a reuben, but I did miss the rye bread. I didn't have any problem with it being soggy, the crescent roll sheet was nice and crunchy. These would be great as an appetizer! Thanks for the recipe.

Pot Roast with Balsamic Onions

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2014
Made for Recipe Group. I used an English cut roast for this. Shredded it at the end of cooking time and put back in the juices(it was so tender it was falling apart). I made sandwiches with provolone and a nice sub bun. Good flavor, but lacking some extra zip in there for me. I added a little worcestershire, some more garlic powder and a little shake of hot sauce. Really easy recipe though, and the more onions the better! Thanks for the recipe.
